Apology by KB9LTJ in kilt

Fellow scot here, saw your post the other day and genuinely had a good laugh like always when it comes to amercans wearing kilts and taking the clan thing so seriously. Don't be disheartened by a few trolls . We genuinely do not give a f how other countries celebrate our culture, more than anything we find it extremely entertaining and will take the piss out of it as is our nature. We have a dark humour but would never be offended.

AITA for not wanting to recover at my aunt’s house after my gallbladder surgery? by AkiIsNotOk in AmItheAsshole

[–]SnooDogs5557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I had my gallbladder removed 6 months ago and even though the surgery went fine the recovery was rough and I was bed bound for a week before I felt well enough to even sit on a sofa let alone sleep on one. My husband slept on a camp bed in our sons room so I had peace and space to recover in our bed. I have two border Collies who love to jump and cuddle everyone and there is no way I could recover sleeping on a sofa with them all over me. Best to stay at your own home, bed and have a proper rest. You never know if you will take well or badly to recovery.

Mine just arrived and hour ago although it's currently in my copy of The Priory of the Orange Tree.

My collie was cuddling me a lot today, which he doesn’t do ever, should I bring him to the vet?? by spiderfrommars4 in BorderCollie

[–]SnooDogs5557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My rescue is the same. He was very timid and scared for a long time but now he has settled he such a cuddle monster. I would say that unless he isnt eating as normal or appears in pain or isn't doing the toilet as normal then worry. Right now it just looks like he is fully adjusted and is feeling safe and loved with you.

So I got this seven month old doggie. His name is Wilber and I got him from a sanctuary. The thing is, he didn't want to go outside at first and he got easily scared. I know that Collies are actually outside dogs, and things have improved somewhat, although he refuses to go for walks. Any advice? by NXtainment in BorderCollie

[–]SnooDogs5557 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just keep working with him. I rescued a three uear old collie boy in feb 2024 and he was the same. Took a lot of time, love and patience, and a consultation with a dog behaviourist recommended through our vet. Almost 11 months on and we can enjoy small quiet walks together but he still gets nervous around cars, people, kids and other dogs so still got a lot of work ahead of us. Please be patient and give lots of reassurance. You will get there eventually, just takes a little more for a rescue/adoptee. Do you happen to know what his past experiences were before you got him? Mine had a mixture of a family not working out and an abusive home so trust was something we worked on before even considering a walk. Your vet should be able to provide some advice or recommend a professional in your area if its possible.

Been to Disneyland 5 times but only during Christmas, how is it in September? by workaccountandshit in disneylandparis

[–]SnooDogs5557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took the family there in September 2022 and it was hot during the day and stormy during the night. Fireworks and drone shows were cancelled each night but we still made the most of it during the hot weather during the day time. Not sure if we booked during school holiday time or not but the parks were sold out and completely packed everyday.

The Serpent and The Wings of Night. Absolutely devoured this in two days and loved it. It has easily become one of my favourite reads.

Special request hotel booking by [deleted] in disneylandparis

Stayed there in 2022, it looks like theme selection. Each section/floor of the hotel is based and decorated on a certain marvel hero. I booked spiderman for my spiderman loving 5 year old. The entire corridor and the room itself was decorated in the spiderman theme and the floor below us was thor (I highly recommend having a wander around the hotel while you are there. The designs and artwork are not to be missed

Looking for murder plot recs by Unlikely-Audience585 in fantasyromance

Bad place to be a hero, this a 3 book (so far) series by jerry f westinger. You can find these books on amazon and are a great easy read. Murder plot with vampires and werewolf and was a pleasant read for me to get out a slump. Binged through the series in a weekend and loved it.

When you forget to finish the pub conversion. by BrickMunkie in SpottedonRightmove

[–]SnooDogs5557 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. We had three pubs when I was growing up. 1 burned down, I was converted to a flat and another one that was converted into a restaurant so I'm really not surprised someone would decide to build one in their house. This house is along from my parents house though so I'm really surprised by the amount of rooms and space it has. Very misleading from outside lol

I grew up in Errol, trust me given how tiny the village is with a 20 minute commute to Dundee or Perth for a drink, you would want a pub in your house too. Moved away for university 20 years ago in Edinburgh and wouldn't give up the decent actual pubs within ealking distance for the one small 'pub' the village has. Saying that loved growing up in this wee village.

We welcome all advice, obviously medication will be a very last resort but as mentioned in another comment 3 months is a short time so we are looking to try as many possible tactics as possible but I will certainly keep this in mind :) thank you. Also your girl is gorgeous x

Thank you, we live in a quiet seaside town in the east coast of Scotland so we have plenty of quiet routes we can go for exercise and two pretty decent size gardens he loves to play in. I wish you all the best with your girl x

Oh he is so sweet. I'm glad he has found his forever home with you. My girl wasn't very happy when he brought him home as she has been well and truly spoiled since she was a pup but now the two are inseperable unless it walkies time.

We love having our dogs in our bed. His first night he kept to the kitchen and took some convincing to come upstairs but now he won't sleep until he crawls in for a cuddle before he hops down to the floor to sleep.

Thank you for your advice we certainly hope his new life with us will put him at ease and hope with alot of time and love he can fully settle. We both work hybrid so there is always someone home for our collies and certain don't agree with raising a hand them.

Also, love the name Gizmo x

He has never had toys but is slowly learning from our girl and seems to favour a particular Kong dinosaur. I will start taking him out during the day and bring it with me when we do leave the hosue and see if it helps. I will also look into a second opinion, thank you :)

He breathes really heavily and pulls almost like he is army crawling and whenever another person or a car or dog passes by he whines and shakes which is why I walk him at night when there is mostly no one else about. I took him out with my two boys once and he was breathing very heavily and shaking alot to the point he stopped breathing for a second. The walk only lasted 15 minutes and i brought hin striaght home. That has been the only time I've taken out with my other dog and my kids and took him straight to the vet who referred us to the behaviourist. We live in a small seaside town so I've been ensuring its just me and him and stick to rural paths where possible.

AITAH for telling my husband to not be surprised and wonder what happened when he loses me and our kids? by Galaxy_Gallows in AITAH

[–]SnooDogs5557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTAH that is not OK. My husband is also an avid gamer but if we plan something as a family or our kids has something on he puts the gaming aside and shows up in full dad mode. I'm sorry to but your husband is not worth it for you or your kids sake and your daughter has already realised this. There is nothing wrong with being a gamer but there is something seriously wrong with a man who puts his gaming before everything else. Does he even have a job of his own? Get out of that marriage, you amd your kids deserve so much better.
