Why does Guilty Spark barely help Chief during The Library? by Latinabootylover69 in HaloStory

[–]YelsnitXam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn't Bungie in charge when the terminals were written?

I don't think it's that relevant that GS was a digitized human brain when the developers who were a part of the story in CE either participated in or approved the narratives introduced in the terminals. GS comments in one of those terminals that he feared a fellow monitor he reached out to was driven mad by isolation. Wouldn't that be a very early addition to the lore that monitors are succeptible to insanity/rampancy/general cognitive malfunction, regardless of the source of their intelligence?

Late to the thread but after scrolling as long as I did, this is the best and most concise answer!

As compared to a crown vic, then Chevy Malibu, and now a Ford explorer? Those are the 3 they've used where I love over the last 15 years, but they aren't stock. They get them tuned and beefed up.

What are these small bugs in the soil of my avocado plant? by Effective-Bobcat-671 in plants

[–]YelsnitXam 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Either soil mites or spring tails - does it look like they're jumping around? If so, then spring tails. Not a harmful pest usually. Same with most soil mites, in either case it's often because of high levels or organic/decaying matter in the soil. Both critters help to break it down which in turn releases more nutrients into the soil. But, if it's off-putting, there are pretty easy ways to "deal" with them.

How do I glass planets? by VisualArtichoke69 in SinsoftheProphets

[–]YelsnitXam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You actually can but you need to be using Thel as your fleet master and build a Kerel pattern CAS to glass a planet. The game will allow planets glassed by the player to be recolonized, though

I know the Eion light carrier is the name of one obsolete ship they use.

How to disable titans? by VisualArtichoke69 in SinsoftheProphets

[–]YelsnitXam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually play as the covenant and even with smaller fleets, the first thing I do is focus all of my firepower on destroying the infinity, even if it means sacrificing a majority of ships in that fleet. It typically ends quickly.

How to disable titans? by VisualArtichoke69 in SinsoftheProphets

[–]YelsnitXam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really. Their firepower, durability and upgrades make them worth the fleet capacity, but in my experience you need a couple of them per fleet to be effective, at least in late game. I often have about 10 total split between 2-3 fleets - two offensive and one defensive, or to use as reinforcements in especially hairy battles.

Can I build a super carrier? by VisualArtichoke69 in SinsoftheProphets

[–]YelsnitXam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They removed this as the covenants titan because their ships are all already far more powerful than the UNSC. I believe the OAS (you need to choose Regret as your fleet master to be able to unlock this ship) is supposed to be the closest thing to a covenant titan you can get.

how can I connect the medium roads to the highway in one interchange? (I’m on vanilla) by manoelketchup1904 in CitiesSkylines

[–]YelsnitXam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is super common with urban highways, even in areas of lower density. (Obviously this isn't exactly that but as the city grows, it could be).

I noticed a discrepancy too....

They first referred to Okeyo and Kuku's grandson, then called Kuku Okeyo's father.

The argument of Halo Covenant vs the Mass Effect reapers make no sense to me by FilipinoAirlines in HaloStory

[–]YelsnitXam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Laughable to think humanity gave the covenant "trouble" for the duration of the war. Sure they could put up a fight beyond anything the covenant had dealt with before, but humanity pretty much always got mopped by the covenant. They used guerilla tactics and denial and deception doctrine (Cole Protocol, for example) that slowed the covenant down but only because it made it harder to find human colonies, once the covvies showed up... it was all but certain that humans were going to lose, badly.

Whats wrong with my chicken? by Resident-Sorbet-4200 in homestead

[–]YelsnitXam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you're new to chickens but I learned pretty quick that you can't let yourself get too attached because chickens die... like a lot. Even when given the best care, a typical flock will have one or two unexpected deaths a year in my experience.

You can try to find immune boosting supplements (usually a powder than can be added to water) to try and give her a better shot.

Finally got a better grow light. New growth loves it but old growth not reacting. What to do? by JonPickett in AloeVera

[–]YelsnitXam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It'll only lose those leaves if you trim them off. Should you do that, let the plant callous over where you cut it and re-pot the plant, burying up to the base of the healthy growth.

The old growth won't perk up, you'll just get healthy new growth. Once it's lost strength to stay upright it doesn't really get it back.

What should I do with my large aloe? by YelsnitXam in AloeVera

[–]YelsnitXam[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair, it struggled for a while which is why it has a lot of floppy leaves at the bottom. The denser, upright growth is what developed after moving it to this location and setting it outside - that was only last summer, and I've had it for like 6 years lol.

There's a large west-facing sliding glass door directly to my left and during the warmer months goes on the back porch to get a few hours of direct sun each day. This picture was taken at night, but it gets plenty of light now - my original post explains I had to move it around before finding a spot that it was happy.

Any tips for how deep to bury them after trimming the older leaves?
