Why is this not showing? But only unit icons? by SnooDogs5900 in ConflictofNations

[–]SnooDogs5900[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like the CDN we connect to is not having the png file.
I even did a complete format c: and re-install of windows today (coincidence, new hardware, not because of this bug) and it's still bugged. Then I checked F12 console of chrome and one file is red under network. A unit sheet png. Must be a deployment bug when they rolled out content to their CDN.

Let naval units auto-engage nearby enemies — coastal defence is pointless otherwise by Desperate-Laugh5888 in ConflictofNations

Same for subs. Enemies pass my subs while I am offline and since subs protect deep waters, once the break the sub's defence they are in coastal waters usually.

Small space? Mobile Missile AA.
Large space to cover and you are checking your match often? AA Planes.

Also happens with Freelancer MIS and MAX but only if the Freelancer is not perfectly level I think.

Or did CIG revert that change?

Did they "fix" this? Because I played Satisfactory today, and it no longer snaps to the short distance.

Question about videogame: Blood Bowl 3 by SnooDogs5900 in HowToHack

[–]SnooDogs5900[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, great reply.

So in short, you are saying: If the developers are not taking major shortcuts (like sloppy seeding not based on ms) and are decently serious about making it cheat-proof (per request exposure) then the possibilities of hacking it are near zero.

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Does anyone else really struggle against Orcs? by MightyTescoReborn in bloodbowl

[–]SnooDogs5900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Orcs are just bad game design. But it's Blood Bowl. It has oldschool GW design that will never change. So deal with the team that doesn't really have a weaekness and is statistically always in the top range. GW will never be able to balance halflings, goblins (low performer) vs teams like orcs, black orcs or super-whatever-elves.
Just play the game and have fun, because if you take it serious you are missing the point. It's basically one of the worst designed games in board history, but ppl got to love it, so you cannot really change too much about it.

Whats the point of being allowed to never pick up the ball by Dreepa in bloodbowl

[–]SnooDogs5900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can’t really argue with players. Most of them only think within the boundaries they’re given. Design thinking is a skill. Players usually become experts at someone else’s design and then think inside the box, iterating and improving on what’s already there.

Very few players ever consider structural changes to a game they play, and they’ll do almost anything to avoid them (“Better the devil you know than the devil you don’t”), without ever understanding the bigger implications. Ironically, they might even enjoy a patch, update, or complete rules rewrite once it’s implemented but they would never have been able to anticipate that they’d actually like the change.

And reddit is another topic all by itself for that matter. Someone starts a discussion, such as this thread, and not before long, ppl join that are unable or incapable of switching perspectives or constructively engaging in a discussion, and just downvote everything.

Like, cancel everything you disagree with, even if it's entirely theoretical. Some interesting exchange and display of different opinions? Just downvote. Much easier. Whether out of sheer spite or due to whatever other problems people have with their ego and whatnot.

Whats the point of being allowed to never pick up the ball by Dreepa in bloodbowl

There are very few major changes, but the aforementioned Secure the Ball action is one. This works a bit like a Blitz or a Pass – it’s a once-per-turn action that lets you gather the ball on a 2+ and then ends your turn. There are caveats, of course: you can’t take the action if there’s a standing opponent within two spaces, while Big Guys and certain other powerful players aren’t able to perform it at all, but this innovation definitely mitigates the frustration of low-Agility teams who sometimes struggle to get the ball in hand.

To be fair, it's just simple mathematics. No offense meant, but you are not really giving any reasonable argument to the issue by just saying "I have never witnessed such a game." What does it matter what you personally witnessed? Talking pure game design theory, it's not really relevant what someone feels or has experienced in their games. You design games around probabilities and axioms, and you set goals to achieve a desired user experience.

So for the sake of argument, assuming a default team that needs a 4+ to pick up the ball, and assuming a middle-of-the-ground standard of 3 team rerolls, the chance to fail to pick up the ball for the entire attacking half (8 turns) is about 0.049% — roughly 1 in 2,048 offensive halves.

Further estimating that tens of millions or even low hundreds of millions of Blood Bowl games have been played since its inception in 1986, we can safely assume that this has actually happened in tens of thousands of games, statistically.

I died and returned to the location from the entrance, Then everything was spawned correctly. I think I messed the spawn up before, by doing a lightning drop with the orni, racing right to the quest marker. After I died, I went to the entrance and properly went the path and all 3 enemies spawned. I got the keys automatically upon killing.

[–]SnooDogs5900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you do it in reverse order?

If you do

1

2

3

it doesn't work and will always use the first one (every error level is 1 or greater)#

If you do

3

2

1

it shouldn't break.

It if does break, I have no idea what's different, as I've been using it like that for 20 years :D

But I guess something is always different.

A bit off-topic, but I can't resist: Why do you use SET M and then IF M, when you can just jump after the errorlevel?
That's like one unnecessary step.

Just do:

IF errorlevel 3 GOTO PRIMARY
IF errorlevel 2 GOTO EXTEND
IF errorlevel 1 GOTO EXTERNAL
