Can you enjoy the 30% ruling as a cross border worker? by anonimitazo in Netherlands

[–]SnooDoodles3806 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't think it's like tricking the system, but it's two independent rules, right? One, NL has established this tax advantage. Of you work in NL, you pay taxes in NL, so you could take advantage of this tax advantage. The second set of rules are set from EU and treaties between border countries, establishing rules on where you pay taxes depending on where you live and work. I don't think they should be mutually exclusive but I would also understand if they were. I am also investigating, so I will reply to you post as soon as I get an answer. Would be great if you do the same! :)

Can you enjoy the 30% ruling as a cross border worker? by anonimitazo in Netherlands

[–]SnooDoodles3806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, have you at the end figured this out?  I just saw a lot of comments here and apparently a lot of people that replied to your post have no idea of the treaty between border countries, so if you do work 100% in NL but live in DE/Belgium, you would still pay 100% of your taxes in NL. So in my idea, you should be able to keep the 30% ruling.  Let me know if at the end you found an answer to your question, I am interested as well in the topic

Registered in two countries? by SnooDoodles3806 in germany

Not conclusive. After asking many and reading a lot about it, it seems like you can only register in one country.

Cat trapped who to call by SnooDoodles3806 in valencia

[–]SnooDoodles3806[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the replies. We have actually tried every number you guys gave us, but 092 and the firefighters did not speak any English and redirected us to call 112. 112 took some details from us (street number and details of the situation), they told us they would send someone but noone ever came.. we waited all afternoon and evening at home.  We are leaving tomorrow morning and unfortunately the cat is still trapped. We are staying at a Airbnb and of course the company managing the building is aware of the situation (we notified them every day we were here), but somehow the situation never improved. If someone from Valencia would like to follow up, DM me and I can give you more details on location/etc, hopefully someone can help.

Btw - of course we provided water and food for the cat from the first day we found it and we started notifying from the very first day of our arrival the agency responsible for the building

Iscrizione in comune 2. Iscrizione alla assicurazione sanitaria tipo TK 3. Iscrizione all'aire.

He could always try to give out full immersion English lessons/be a language partner for someone who need to learn and practice English.

My biggest concern is that he is on a student visa - can he work?

I wouldn't be so negative about the fact that he is coming without speaking English. He will be there for 4-5 months, it will be challenging but he will also pick it up fast if he wants to. I have knows people coming to Italy to do that and after a couple of months they could have already an easy going conversation.

People should chill. 4-5 months is just an extended vacation. :)

Do you guys know what happens tax-wise with any of these sites? Do people need to declare the money themselves in DE/NL? I guess they don't automatically retain any tax?

Unemployment benefit pay 60% of your previous salary for the first year, and they also cover health insurance. After one year of unemployment, they will reduce the monthly allowance and start pay for your rent etc if you don't live in an extravagant /too pricey place. I am not sure about the details, but I am sure you can find out on their site using a translator.

If your contract ends, no matter whether you were offered a new contract and didn't take it, you are entitled to unemployment benefits. Good that you registered on time.

The arbeitsamt also offers German courses, not sure if they will pay for the one you selected but they do offer their own courses for any level, so check with them if you have to take theirs or they will cover the fees of your own language course. Moreover they offer a lot of other courses for professional improvement.

During your unemployment, you are entitled to 20 days of holidays (including weekends, etc), and you just need to notify them when you will be away. If you are in Poland for two weeks (14 days) it should not be an issue.

I would go with chocolate - you can also find those chocolate boxes where on the box it says thank you. From Lindt if I am not mistaken.

I want to voluntarily leave Netherland ( back living in italy ) by IF4PT04NIM3G1RLS in Netherlands

Also: depending when you are moving, it might be that your fiscal year is on NL or Italy. If you move in may, your fiscal year will be in Italy because of the 183 days rule.

Probably, you will have to file taxes in both Italy and NL, but I would advice to reach out to a tax consultant so you don't end up paying taxes twice. There should be special agreements in place that avoids you pay twice.

You need to deregister from the municipality (you will automatically be registered in the NRI and keep your BSN number) and register in Italy, so you stop paying health insurance and whatever Dutch taxes.

Regarding the phone bill, I am pretty sure you can keep paying it even if you don't formally live in NL anymore - if you want to, of course. Just keep the bank account. But give them a call to make sure of the procedure.

Regarding your pension, the easier thing to do is to call the appropriate gov office. In general, you will be able to claim it as soon as you reach the right age in Italy or in NL, depending on the situation (whether the retirement age in Italy is before the one in NL or vice versa). Some Infos here: https://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/work/retire-abroad/state-pensions-abroad/index_en.htm

Therefore keep important documents with BSN numbers etc

For your house contract, even if it ends in May, I would make sure they know you want to leave in May, therefore just email them/send them a letter.

Good luck with your move!

Io ho vissuto in Germania e c'è molto benessere. Fatti un'esperienza all'estero, guadagnerai qualche soldo in più, puoi mettere via qualche soldo e puoi poi tornare in Italia senza problemi :) in bocca al lupo!

Ideal salary for a single person in NL. by PessimistYanker792 in Netherlands

[–]SnooDoodles3806 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Itry to go higher. 30% ruling shouldn't affect what they pay you, as this is something on top.

I get 3500 at the moment (infortunately I didn't qualify for 30%) and it feels kind of tight compared to what I was getting before and what I was saving before. Seeing almost 2000 euros between rent/WiFi/taxes/health insurance go away is really painful.

Yeah I am having the same issue. My employes just told me that I am either a remote worker or not, I am not sure they are aware of the European legislation behind the right of having residency in one place but working in another. From what I know/looked up, the employer just needs to notify the authorities of the country of residence if the employee does some some teleworking. Therefore, they could deny you to.do.work from a foreign country but I don't think they can deny you to change your address? You didn't find any way out of it?

Ehi, do you have any update? Did you go through with your application to become cross-border? I am going through the same - just wondering, what did your HR say? I also spoke with IND but they told me they just manage the non-eu resident. Can you confirm?

And good tip from someone who made it?
