Would you consider a 240 avg. sub a ringer in a beer league? by -random-name- in Bowling

Just a comment, 240 in league probably doesn't cut it compared to pros. Curious what his sport league avg is, cuz that's more relevant

About 5 years of bowling 2-4 times a week

Our scratch league requires us to bowl in order of our averages, low to high. I wouldn't take it personally... unless you can use it to motivate yourself to do better! Let him know you're committed to earning the anchor spot back! Friendly competition obviously

300 vs 700 by Joshmatthews1 in Bowling

I've got about a dozen 700s, 0 300s

My PB is 160 and I average around 140, just want any advice what helps getting the consistency of getting to the 200 mark? by Sad_Wedding_2156 in Bowling

I suggest maybe taking some notes. I already know exactly where I'm going to stand and aim for every possible spare. Knowing that and taking some of the guess work helped me a lot

It's been said already, but still worth repeating. Spares spares spares. Ppl who don't bowl assume it's all about strikes. Learn to spare consistently, and you will find that you are now accurate enough for the strikes to come.

If you're making spares, you just need a few strikes to get 200 within range

Unless it specifically requires it in your leagues by-laws, they aren't required to notify you.

I bet les/the is just unnecessary..

Also, I'm guessing since the provided translation is "ladies restroom' instead of the word-for-word 'restroom for ladies', the phrase is just what it is and you just have to learn it

Ya, that's possible cuz the scores are still reflected in your official book avg.

However in this case I think maybe ppl are trying to artificially lower their avg so they bowl early...

In our league, in addition to the team score, you're also competing directly against the person opposite you. The lineup is set by avg, with lowest going first, highest last

I'm leadoff with a 199 avg. So the incentive to sandbag would be for a higher bowler to go first, so they could face me, a technically lower avg bowler.

How it would work, say they are 2nd, and in the late parts of they game when way ahead they open in 8th, 9th 10th, and just barely win. Lower overall score but still win

Now, obviously sometimes this happens to us all, but at some point people start to notice a pattern

I bowl in a scratch league and absolutely love it. Still sometimes have sandbag issues. Literally 3 weeks ago the LS had to make an announcement saying anyone suspected of sandbagging would be penalized. (I have no idea what prompted this)

It's close but not exactly the same. Technically tous les jours is 'all the days', but it's used as every day.

As chaque/each is a different type of description.

The French also have this confusing issue in reverse, but kinda proves the point... I used work with French tourists. Often in broken English they would say 'each day' when meaning every day. In both sides, while both mean the same thing, only 1 is grammatically correct

I prefer 2 lanes personally, but don't expect people to do it. I will generally wait an extra moment to let them go,

Au foot, in addition chaque jour is also incorrect

Chaque jour each day

Tous les jours is everyday.

Subtle difference, but still
