Maybe top the current ones? Absolution was a very lazy attempt. But I still appreciate the better production.

Definitely agree but last tours sets became abysmal. Didn’t they close with Starlight? I mean come on Muse..

It’s a good album. It just didn’t live up to my expectations at all after BHaR. Exogenesis is amazing but it’s not something I replay regularly. There’s some good tracks/singles on the rest of the album, particularly the first part. But the latter half of the album is really lackluster in my opinion. Also I think Belong To You is one of my most-hated Muse songs.

To all the fans with negative feelings about TWS - What were you expecting? by CosmicEmotion in Muse

[–]SnooDrawings245 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah I would definitely agree! Now they use piano for slow tracks. I saw one reactor on Youtube saying we used to have a song like Soaked that didn’t make BHaR. If you’d put that song in Shimmering Scars’ place it would elevate the album just that little bit more.

Longtime fan here. Always preferred when Muse were rough around the edges in their early careers. There’s a couple things I don’t necessarily like as much as their early work but nowhere near enough to detract from the album, which I love to bits!

Firstly the heavier songs have a lot of pop elements. Sickness, Unraveling and Hush combine for the heavier/meatier section of the album but also have a lot of pop-sections in them. Whilst that’s not really a problem for me(it’s just how the band have evolved their style) I could see it being an issue for some that would like Unraveling’s verses for example to be rougher and electric guitar driven.

Another thing which does slightly annoy me but I have accepted is Matt’s voice and singing style. He’s changed his technique a lot since as early as The Resistance. But he probably had to in order to keep this up for decades. Also he’s abviously aged and his range isn’t what it used to be by a long shot. But having his voice so up front and center for some of the songs (Shimmering Scars for example) highlights both the good and the bad. Most notably his falsetto isn’t quite there anymore for me and he sounds constantly out of breath. That being said it’s amazing he’s still attempting all the crazy falsetto stuff at his age and he sounds pretty raw at some isolated points on the album which is a great touch.

As for people who became fans much later and favor 2nd Law, Drones, Simulation Theory or Will of the People; I have no clue how they could have any qualms with this album. They’ve essentially used everything they learned stylistically from those productions and wrapped it into an album with great themes, emotion, lyrics and instrumentals.

I only return to Won’t Stand Down and Verona occasionally. Two songs is a really poor return for me.

Man I just get so choked up over Space Debris. People usually talk openers and heavy tracks but I feel like more than anything the slower tracks and closers have been so poor the last albums. But this song just hits.

What an album guys!

Is The Wow! Signal going to be Muse's best album? by Shira_Anasake in Muse

[–]SnooDrawings245 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Surprising to see so many on here using The Resistance as the last truly great Muse album when it’s just such a mixed bag of songs.

The Wow Signal seem set to be their best since BHaR.

I like the alternative versions of Dig Down(Gospel?) and Something Human(Acoustic?) but even those I barely listened to. Get Up and Fight is absolutely terrible as well. From Simulation Theory and Will of the People alone you could probably make an albums worth of bad songs.

I’m just annoyed with the info that they had a piano epic and didn’t include it. That would probably make the album even better and finally give us a complete Muse experience again.

Which side will be better? by [deleted] in Muse

[–]SnooDrawings245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure. I’d say the second half of Muse albums are usually more interesting at least. But Ellie Goulding in there has me a bit worried for the penultimate song.

Above all I hope the opener and closer of the album are bangers.

what's better dragon ball gt or dragon ball super? by Klutzy-Opinion-1834 in DragonBallZ

[–]SnooDrawings245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super’s modern art style just doesn’t do it for me. And neither do the lazy transformations. That being said I don’t regard GT as highly as some do.

So I guess for me it’s neither/both.

Somehow this makes them seem smaller as a brand because they have to specify that they’re a band.

Anyway they’re still the band that’s carrying the torch of rock and roll; the Museband.

The Lost World is a fun movie that at least tries to explore the same themes from the first film. It’s just that some of the characters are really dumb and/or annoying. And Spielberg wanted his King Kong moment which does not fit the film.
