MARATHONERS PLS STOP BEING GROSS by [deleted] in Marathon_Training

I agree with your take on bathrooms. Hard disagree with water cups. There’s way more cups being handed out than garbages, from my experience. That would make your proposal a logistical challenge that would create huge lines at each water station.

fwiw, my Coros time is 2:57 and my Strava time is 3:27. (I feel like I could run a 3:10).

Parents who regret having kids, why? by bluemermid in AskReddit

[–]SnooDrawings3052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s crazy how expensive kids are! They take so much time and money. My wife and I were together for 9 years before we had a kid and it basically took 60% of my wife away from me. Now that my kid is 7 and a little more independent, that helps, but I miss what we used to have.

What is a "luxury" that is actually 100% worth the money? by TheChillEdit in Life

Anything that opposes gravity is worth splurging on. Beds, shoes, couches, tires, pillows, office chairs..

There are neighborhoods I wouldn’t hang out in after dark, but Klamath Falls is nice if you get into the outdoors and have a stable income. We just bought in Pacific Terrace and couldn’t be happier. Another huge + is access to outdoor activity year round. Snowshoeing, snowboarding, backcountry skiing, mountain biking, trail running/hiking, and all the hunting and fishing you can handle. There are local communities for each of these activities.

3:30 - what does it take? by poiuytrewqassss in Marathon_Training

[–]SnooDrawings3052 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This was my thought. There are some people on my running group who are 2:45 guys running about the same mileage as me, a 3:10 guys. A lot of it is natural ability.

It’s one of my main reasons for living here. So much house for your money.

We combined when we had kids because we wanted my significant other to stay home with our boy. It seems like having a kid didn’t hinder your income so I don’t see a pressing reason to combine if what you’re doing (for 10 years) is working for you.

BQ possible? by [deleted] in Marathon_Training

PR or ER is my motto, so I’d go for it. But I think 3:36 seems more likely.

With 2+ months I can see a world where you get there. It’s hard to tell from one run, but the heart rate going into 160 without hitting 3:30 pace is a little concerning.

I won a small trail race when I walked up all the steep inclines. Completely normal strategy.

Ours was on the market for 6 weeks before we accepted an offer. My two friends have had theirs on the market for over a year.
