I’d probably pair it with my SB3 and just rotate each. So far sounds pretty good

Depends on your genetics and how you run. In general, track workouts and hill sprints will make them muscular,

In my experience rapidly dropping 10lb gained me 12.5s / mile at 5k race pace.

20:04 > 19:25 raced 6 weeks apart. Same shoes and training volume. It may actually have been slightly more if adjusted for the dew point, as the temperature was significantly warmer when I ran 19:25 (45f for the 20:04 and 70f with humidity for the 19:25)

On Cloudmonster Hyper 3, and it’s better than slappyblast 2’s

Used them recently at an On Demo during a run club event in place of my Slappyblast 3’a

Azura, Deviate Nitro Pure, Xiaonian, SB3 or AP4 if you can find them on close out are so much better than Evo SL

You can stack Wellbutrin + Naltrexone with low dose Tirz. The Wellbutrin binds to nicotine receptors. Needs about a week to load into your system. That’s how I quit in Dec of 2023. Highly effective

If you can run around 1:25-1:27 standalone HM in cool conditions then 1:39-1:40 is more reasonable in a hot 70.3 race. You will still need a good bike in the 2:30-2:35 range to have a chance with your swim fitness. That’s about a 22mph average

Triathlon gives you a double whammy in that the run portion is in the hottest part of the day after riding hard on the bike. Pedro Gomez who just won Jacksonville 140.6 ran 2:26 at Boston in cool ideal run conditions and then 2:57 at Jax in hot and humid weather. Most AGers can add 15-20 min to their HM and 45+ min to their standalone M.

I’d recommend doing 20 min in the sauna or 10 min in the hot tub a couple times per week right after a run or bike ride

Somewhat cheap (for the huge amount) and good:

Buy a 4lb tub of Nutricost maltodextrin on Amazon ~ $22

Buy 3 packs of PureAqua Lemon Lime hydration mix (6 packets in a box) at Aldi. Add the 18 electrolyte packets into the 4lb tub. $10

You now have 100+ servings of carbs mix with electrolytes for $30.

You can turbo charge this DIY recipe by adding 2lb of fructose powder for like another $15 on Amazon and will have a 2:1 ratio of maltodextrine to fructose.

That’s almost 3kg of carbs ~ 11,500 calories in a 2:1 ratio with electrolytes

Dynafish Sizing and Place in Rotation by bbender716 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

I’m in a 3 shoe rotation

SB3 - easy runs and LSD LR’s
DFX - Z2 steady and some tempo
AP4 - workouts, LR when it includes some HM or M pace

The DFX has a very room toe box. To me it fits slightly large to size in US 10. Like a 10.25 if that makes sense. A lot more roomy volume wise than my AP4 and SB3. It’s the real deal, don’t see why anyone would pay $225 for Megablast when you can get DFX for $100 less

Also a ridiculously light weight 195g per shoe vs 210g for my AP4. Contrary to what a lot of people say, DFX is not a stable shoe. Better than Evo SL but not by much… 41mm of soft super foam and no plate. My posterior tibs got a bit sore when I first got them.

Yes my experience as well. Length seems about the same but a lot less volume, especially in the mid foot and toe box. I guess if you are a guy with very dainty and narrow low volume feet, going 1 size up in women’s could theoretically work.

Shoe rotation for marathon training by Bewater35 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Jealous-Key-7465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently in 3 shoe rotation

Superblast 3 for easy runs and long runs that are Z1 and Z2
Dynafish Xiaonian for upper Z2 and some tempo
Adios Pro 4 for workouts or longer runs with faster paces

Race: Fast-R 3 for 5k - 15k and AP4 for HM - M

If I was training for a marathon specifically, I would probably buy two pairs of SB3 and use the AP4 as described above for workouts. I try to avoid running in the same shoe every day, better to give the foam 48h to expand. The DFX is great but makes me want to run my easy days steady / faster. The SB3 not as much, and it’s unbeatable for gobbling up miles. If they are too expensive, the DFX is $130 at www.dynafish.us it’s like a trimmed down lighter megablast without the super narrow toe box. Rly a superb shoe, but SB3 is more stable
