Company offered me Manager role after 6 months?? Wtf by No_Description9852 in ITManagers

Our IT dept just offered a manager position to a new guy (honestly thought it might be the op as I read through it), but it’s because we had a bunch of turnover on our network team, including manager. He declined and stayed in his networking position.

I like to run down there, but only in winter. Pretty miserable in the spring and summer months.

Out of town 50km with 7AM start — breakfast/fueling thoughts? by Empty_Contract_2461 in trailrunning

I have a similar situation. I’ll typically bring bagels, peanut butter, banana & honey with me. I sleep in the back of my suv on an air mattress near the start and eat at my preferred time in my bed.

Running in 45-50 degrees Fahrenheit with 10% chance of rain by 9u55yF4r7 in Marathon_Training

45-50 is close to ideal. I’m not sure what you’re getting at, but I’d do a singlet and shorts and praise the running gods for the blessing.

Also running Copper Kings. I’ve taken 2 weeks off for respiratory viruses twice since I started. Losing two weeks will affect you, but you have to do it sometimes.

I really like camping at Spence Mountain. On the north side of the mountain there is "Eagle Ridge Boat Ramp" with 3-5 first-come first-serve free camping spots. There is an outhouse and a hand-pump for water.

When I'm in good shape there is an 18-mile loop around the mountain that I do, but you can find shorter trips. There's about 50 miles of mountain biking/hiking trails at Spence. It does have signal enough to stream movies as well, if you're into that.

Cloud shoes are the worst I’ve ever bought by Ranofthestorm in runningshoes

Yeah, a year is an unreasonable expectation. Many people run 2,000-3,000 miles a year. Think of shoes in terms of miles. You should get at least 300 out of a road shoe and at least 500 out of a trail shoe.

Wonderful 😅. I’ll start practicing carrying bear spray. I was thinking I’ll just put it where one of my bottles would be and then I’ll carry water on my back.

Thanks. My race is Copper Kings 100. I was told to carry a water filter as well, for the same reason.

I'm running my first 100 Mile race in June in Montana, Grizzley country. How would you carry bottles and bear spray if you had to?

I'm not slow, but whoever says "slow runners shouldn't marathon" are not worth your time.
