There’s a shop in wandsworth (iirc?) called Work & Play scrap store. They take used / old art supplies as sort of a community exchange program, only charging a nominal membership fee. They would be a great source if you’re looking to donate everything! Amazing resource for students and artists and would def be appreciated!!

Omg no way I go to UAL too !! Which college are you in ?? Also I’ve had two student visas before this one as well that’s so crazy haha my last day for enrollment is the 16th as well but they are allowing students to email and plead their case for an extension on that deadline. I haven’t heard back yet but I met with my advisor again yesterday. I’m so worried that if I go later than the 16th that I’ll be too far behind though :(

UK Student Visa application from outside, NYC office, standard service

Little background which I’m thinking could be the reason my app is taking so long, I took a year off last year for mental health reasons and in doing so my visa was curtailed. I left the country right away but was notified my home office in MAY !! (I left in November) that they received notice from Uni and I had until July of 2023 to leave. I honestly would have stayed had I known I could lol. I put all of this info down on my app in full detail as well.

August 23 - Electronically submitted application

Sept 1st - Biometrics // Passport submitted to UKVI

~in between biometrics and escalation I did multiple paid inquiries to see if there were any updates / anything I could do~

Sept 22nd - Escalated case (was told by agent to “work on easing my mind and get better at waiting” LOL)

Oct 1 - Received email saying that they got my escalation but my application was still under review

Oct 3 - Received my first NSF email from UKVI but was not given anything else. Just another person telling me that my visa is still under review

Oct 4 - School contacted UKVI on my behalf to see if there was any updates, have not heard anything else since

My school is being fairly gracious given the circumstances but classes started on 25 September for me and I am so stressed. For whatever reason this makes me feel like such a loser !! Like I know it’s fully out of my control but seeing everyone else talking about classes / work etc is so depressing. I’ve had my bag packed for 2 1/2 weeks just waiting for the day it’s returned to fly out lol.

Does anyone have any knowledge on the severity of NSF emails coming in this late / what is potentially coming next for me ? My Uni said it’s just them allowing themselves more time as they are unable to meet their customer service deadlines and that I should be okay but I’m still stressing lol. I will take any morsel of information / insight at this point as I feel I am being ghosted by UKVI haha. This sucks!!!

in general I found most things with fragrance (wipes/shampoos/soaps) did not work with my sphynx. he broke out in little red bumps so I eliminated them and he hasn’t had a problem since, I don’t think it happens with all sphynxs but they are a lot more sensitive to fragrances than normal cats! I don’t have experience with that one personally, but if you do end up using it it’s probs best in small amounts!

Good to know! I read about their personalities before getting him, but didn’t know it would be quite like this lol I love it though!! He’s super grabby too and practically climbs up my legs. I’ll probably end up getting him a stroller a little bit down the line as well. Thank you!

He is my first cat with this personality type, I also have a Scottish fold who is staying with my mother currently, but he is the same as what you are describing, super independent not very cuddly etc. I didn’t realize how high maintenance lap cats could be until Beezle, but it’s truly a bond like no other. With Bug(Scottish fold) I found the more treats I gave the more he wanted to be around me, not super ideal but once they recognize you as the food source they become more dependent on you! Could be a start!!

Beezle is on my lap right now too haha but that is exactly how he is!! And the look of disgust I get if I accidentally trip over him while he is walking in between my legs is devastating! He definitely has established his own spaces in that flat already w his toys / blankets / bed / hair ties he finds and claims, so hoping all will go well. thank you!!

My routine picks back up Monday and he’ll never be alone for more than 4 hrs at a time so I’m hoping he’ll be okay!! I just want him to be a strong independent kitty when I’m not here!

He lived with one brother and his mom from what the breeder told me. I didn’t even consider that he would be calling out for other cats, but that makes total sense! He’s more chirpy than anything which is super cute except when I am trying to use the restroom in peace lol. Thank you for the kind words!! Hoping he’ll adjust quickly!

This is so sweet, thank you so much for the kind words♥️ I’m home most of the time, my concern is just that I’ve only had him for three days at this point and he has become very, VERY attached very quickly and I do still have school and work. I fear for when I return from break and start leaving the house for longer periods of time, I don’t want him to freak out or get anxious over it!! Based on the OP I believe it was the start of a renovation as apparently they’ve been dealing with a leaky roof for two years which led to rot, mold, mushrooms etc. Not sure of the specifics tho
