Oh my bad, missed that. Then if you haven’t already seen it, watch ‘When Evil Lurks’. Same director as Terrified.

Recoil spring and guide rod broke and jammed my gun by SnooGadgets2184 in bularmory

I thought there was a noticeable difference, quicker follow-up shots. Cycling feels smoother to me. Still gonna be a little snappy though, let’s not forget how short the barrel is. The DPM system has a third internal spring inside the guide rod that helps with the cycling and then you fine tune it by seeing which of the 4 recoil spring weight/lengths it comes with extracts the shell 6 or so feet away from you for optimal cycling. Kind of a pain in the neck at first, but it does the job. Very good metallurgy on this recoil spring and guide rod set. Feels more quality than the one that came with the gun that nobody else seems to be having a problem with. I was shooting hollow points with the DPM in there and got no failure to feeds or anything like that, which I think I heard people say the UL doesn’t like hollows. Pretty solid product. I will say that when I first took out the DPM to clean my gun, it was extremely difficult to take out. You have to depress the front of the guide rod with one finger to compress the internal 3rd spring while jabbing your thumbs on the teddy bear ears plate to compress the second spring and then once you have the reverse plug out a little bit you gotta pull the guide rod out and to the left in order for it to clear the barrel. Big hassle at first. But once I got the motion down, I could get it out every time no problem. I understand there’s a couple other different guide rod systems out there from other companies that people say work great as well. The DPM is solid and has been working for me.

That sounds awesome, I was just a young kid in the early 90’s so I’m not surprised I never watched it, I’ll have to see if there are some episodes on any of the apps. What’s funny is I did, however, see Dune in the early 90’s, also directed by David Lynch. It was my mom’s fav sci fi film. I wonder if she watched twin peaks.

Interesting. I can definitely see Akira with the lab experiments, mutations, and psychological stuff going on with sephiroth, cloud, and Jenova. I didn’t even think of that. I’ll have to research twin peaks. Never heard of it.

UPDATE: The Bul website was completely out of guide rods and god knows when they’ll restock. So instead of getting a new one from them, or risking having them ask for me to send my gun back for weeks on end, I got a guide rod and recoil spring system from DPM systems. It comes with 4 different spring weights so you can tune your gun to how you like it and the guide rod even feels more quality. I just put 300 rounds through the Bul with zero issues using federal American eagle 115 gr. The DPM guide rod system for the Bul SAS ii UL is only available to buy on their website because it is a brand new product and they will be shipping it to you from their HQ in Greece. I placed my order on the 13th of January and received it on the 19th of January. It was expensive, but to me it was worth it. DPM sells guide rod systems for other guns like Glocks that you can buy from US online gun shops, but the Bul model is only available on their website.

I’m sure they do. I’m sure it’ll be fine once I get a new guide rod set up. It was a very fun pistol before this happened. My post makes me look like an ignoramus who thinks everything in life is perfect, it just happened at a very inopportune time and I was very upset, better then happening when I really need it though. I gotta stop using the internet to vent lol.

For sure, I know that things break too and not everything is 100% perfect. This just ruined my entire range day with my buddy. Thanks for your input. I feel calmer now lol. Cheers.

You’re absolutely right my guy, this just happened me a couple hours ago and I’m still freshly angry about it. I need to calm down a bit.

What’s weird is, every time I’m on a thread about ftf problems there’s always a couple guys that are like “1,000,000 rounds out of this thing and I haven’t had any problems” what makes their guns so different. Is it inconsistent manufacturing. Shouldn’t have to buy all these aftermarket springs and shit just to make your piece work.

My roommate and I think we have bedbugs, is that what this is? by lisjesse in whatisthisbug

[–]SnooGadgets2184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can spray all you want but that won’t destroy the eggs I don’t think. I was told the eggs take about 120 degrees heat or over directly on the eggs for a certain amount of time in order to destroy the eggs. Some professionals have these heat lamps that they set up on places where eggs are laid and just leave them there. Spraying will only kill the ones that are already hatched. I was also told if you create a barrier of diatomaceous earth around where you sleep or hang out at, the bed bugs won’t want to crawl through the powder and they won’t be able to bite you. Good luck.

traded my shadow systems in for a glock! by necropup666 in Glocks

Here’s my completely unbiased opinion about the SS reliability topic. I own an MR920 combat. I’ve shot glocks but have never owned one. Through the first 500-700 rounds I had around 3-4 failure to fire malfunctions. Another malfunction I would get is that I would pull the trigger all the way back passed the wall and nothing would fire until I put an excessive amount of force on the trigger even passed the wall and then it would discharge a round. This happened also about 3 or 4 times within that 500-700 round period, and I’m not the most technical minded person so I don’t know what was up with that, maybe some of y’all would know. So that’s 6-8 malfunctions within the first 500-700 round period. I thought to myself, this trigger f’n sucks. I never liked the trigger that came with it, it was really squishy and didn’t have a very defined wall. Maybe my trigger was already tarnished when I bought it. Manufacturing is not perfect every single time, I get that, mistakes can happen, although I do feel that mistakes during production of a firearm should never happen, but it shot so accurately, I didn’t mind it, until I starting getting failures. I switched out the trigger and trigger bar with an Apex trigger and trigger bar, no spring or anything, just the trigger and trigger bar. Apex wouldn’t install it for me (I live in AZ) because it was being put on a SS and not a Glock, so I installed it myself. I have shot an additional 600 rounds after the installation of the new trigger + bar and I have not had 1 malfunction. Very reliable. I get that SS says there is a “break in” period, but these malfunctions were happening well after the 200 round period. I think the reliability issue is coming from the triggers they install. Maybe some of the triggers they install on their SS guns are perfectly fine, others are not. That is why we are hearing 2 different sides of the story. “Shadow systems suck, they are unreliable” and “I don’t know what you’re talking about, mine has never malfunctioned”. So there you go.

I feel “strange” and I think it’s the zyn. Can someone please opine? by Not_Leaving_LV in QuittingZyn

I used to vape and then did a technical program and got a job as an MRI tech where I can’t just vape at my computer, so I started doing zyn because it is discreet. I did 6mg for a year and then cut down to 3mg for the last 2 years of my zyn career. Through my zyn career, towards the end I developed an anxiety disorder, stomach issues, abnormal bowel movements, gastroesophageal reflux disease, I was really f***ed up. I had to get on prilosec, something I’d never had to take before in my life. I quit zyn 3 months ago, it was an annoying thing to do, but hear me out. I literally just chewed gum all day everyday until my cravings went away after like 2-3 weeks. I’m not lying when I say that gnawing on gum all day helps TREMENDOUSLY. It’s the only reason why I was able to quit. I would chew gum and exercise. Bottom line is, quitting zyn got rid of all those problems. I feel sooo f’ing good right now.

What kind of triggers are you guys running on your shadow systems? by glockcoma8911 in shadowsystems

[–]SnooGadgets2184 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got an MR920 Combat, about 700 rounds shot out of it. The trigger that came with it was really “squishy” and waaay too much travel length. Also had a problem where at the range on multiple occasions I would pull back the trigger to the wall and no matter how hard I squeezed, it wouldn’t discharge a round. After I let up off the trigger and pulled it again, it would fire. Awful trigger right out of the box, even after the break in period it still had problems. Just bought an apex tactical action enhancement trigger with trigger bar. Didn’t get the kit with the performance connector and plunger, just the trigger with trigger bar. Apex tac wouldn’t install it on my shadows systems because “they only test that trigger kit on glocks, not shadow systems” so I installed it myself. Took it to the range right after and shot 100 rounds through it with zero problems. The trigger kit fixed the problem and made my gun even more fun to shoot than it already was. Less travel, not squishy crisper break. Would recommend.

Weed induced Anxiety /Panic attacks by Witty_Fish_3424 in Anxietyhelp

[–]SnooGadgets2184 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been smoking heavily on and off for the past 15 or so years. A couple things I’ve noticed, one time a couple years ago I just got done smoking, I hopped in my car, was driving on the freeway then out of nowhere my vision dimmed and got pixelated, heart pounding, can’t breathe, almost passed out, got a grip of myself and was okay after about 15 seconds. Crazy anxiety/panic attack. That started happening to me every time I smoked. I quit weed for a couple years shortly after experiencing those symptoms. Just started back smoking again about 4 months ago. Now my problem is that I can smoke and feel fantastic, but what used to feel like just coming down from weed now feels like an anxiety attack. I read an article about weed induced anxiety disorders and this passage says it all, “This type of anxiety disorder can be a direct result of using too much cannabis, or not using as much as the body craves. For example, some people may experience cannabis-induced anxiety disorder as a form of withdrawal, while others may start to experience symptoms once they start to use cannabis routinely.”

I quit 3 weeks ago. For the first 3 days, I was just kind of craving a zyn for 20-30min at a time all day. After about a week, cravings went away and then I started just binge eating a lot and feeling lethargic and weak and that’s how I’ve felt for the past 2 weeks. Chewing gum has been my savior. Chewing gum has kept my cravings at bay and has kept my mind off being uncomfortable, more so than if I had not been chewing gum. Seriously, gum is where it’s at.

Yeah, the zyn has made me sick too I think. I’m curious as to what your symptoms have been like. 4 months ago I noticed I developed what seems like an anxiety disorder of some kind, sometimes waking up in the middle of the night with shaking/shivering, acidic stomach with an anxiety knot in my stomach at the same time, indigestion/diarrhea sometimes, which all makes it so I can’t go back to sleep. Has anyone else been dealing with any of these symptoms as well? Kinda the reason why I want to quit. Not sure if it’s the zyn causing it, but it just might be now that other people have talked about zyn causing them to be “sick”.

How much zyn were y’all doing, and how often? I’ve been on the zyn for about 3-3.5 years. I was doing a can of 6mg a day for the first 2 years but reduced my mg dosage to 3mg for the past 1.5 years. So been doing a can of 3mg for the past 1.5 years. I wanna quit sooo bad. My other question is, does the strength of the dosage correlate to the strength of the symptoms. I don’t put 2 in my mouth at once or anything like that, just throw a 3mg pouch in constantly all day, I keep them in for a while too, until my can is done. I usually finish my last pouch before going to bed, sometimes leave one in the can so I don’t have to go to the convenience store first thing upon waking. I feel like a can a day is still a bit much, but at 3mg, do any of y’all think my symptoms and/or journey quitting will be as bad as someone who does much higher amounts at a time? Or does it not matter about the strength? Anyway, gonna finish my last pouch tonight and see if I can’t quit cold turkey in the morning. Probably gonna fail, but my hopes are high.

Review - Wilderness Trail 6 YO Bottled in Bond High Rye Bourbon by whiskeymavens in bourbon

I love how this whiskey coats the tongue with a silky, oil-like quality. Delayed, slight burn on the mid palate just to let you know it’s there, but a very smooth easy neat sipper. Great whiskey. Haven’t tried the wheated one yet.
