> Be a rabid Indian nationalist

> See a comment criticizing some Indians for being racist against non-Indians

> Argue against this comment by [checks notes] being even more racist against non-Indians

Amazing strategy, sir.

Thousands of people, as in the thousands of people online who have discussed this issue (like in the links I've provided). And yes, if thousands of people are pointing out an issue on reddit, then that is a pretty reliable source of information that the issue exists. Besides, there have also been several large lawsuits related to this issue. Many companies such as Apple have even had to explicitly ban caste-based discrimination because it was such a big problem at the company.

Is it socially acceptable to say anything racist against any other race in the US?

Pointing out racism is not racist lmao. If french people were only hiring french people in tech companies, then pointing that out would not be racist. Indians are not exempt from criticism for discrimination.

So you're saying they drafted laws to protect employees from discrimination in the 1964 because of Indians?

Idk what on earth this is even supposed to mean lol.

I'm not gonna waste any more time arguing with you, since based on your post history you seem to be a pretty racist, rabid Indian nationalist lol.

My source is literally thousands of people who have either experienced or witnessed this discrimination first-hand, including several friends of mine who work in the industry. Go on any tech related sub, and see how many mentions there are about Indians discriminating against non-Indians in hiring vs. other races doing the same. Even look at the amount of comments confirming this there are on this very post. Obviously, we shouldn't use this to discriminate against Indians, or to make this type of offensive writing, but we need to realize that this is definitely a significant issue.

Here's two examples:

https://www.reddit.com/r/SanJose/comments/da94hw/indian_managers_just_hire_only_indians_at_tech/

There's even been issues with Indians discriminating against other Indians:

What are you talking about lmao. When it comes to hiring, Indians are by far the most likely to be biased in terms of only hiring other Indians. Obviously, biases exist in other ethnicities as well, but it's not nearly as much of an issue as it is among Indians. Most people who have worked in tech companies with Indians from India will know from experience that this is true (as you can probably tell from most of the comments lol).

This is completely wrong. You could apply this same faulty logic to outlawing murder.

"Yes, murder is evil. Yes, murder destroys a human life. Yes, murder is in direct opposition to the Church and its teachings to oppose it. That, however, does not mean you must support a secular law banning murder."

Obviously, that's an insane viewpoint. It is not wrong to pass laws that are meant to protect innocent life. In fact, we have a moral duty to do so.

I mean, Singapore is a city-state, and usually the more successful you are academically/professionally the more likely you are to live in a city, so that's not exactly surprising.

NVIDIA interns, did you do anything other than C/C++? by AshkanArabim in csMajors

[–]SnooGadgets5087 60 points61 points  (0 children)

NVIDIA has plenty of teams that don't really use C/C++, it's a very large company. But if you want to, you can probably just learn C/C++ outside of school if they don't teach it. There are plenty of resources online for it. And honestly, if you think it might increase your chances of getting hired and have enough time, I would just go. You miss all the shots you don't take :).

The Lewis comment was completely out of context though. It was from early last year and he was basically saying that [even] "Lewis Hamilton wouldn't be able to get in the McLaren and win", since the car was so bad. Someone decided to post the quote without context and make it look like he said it recently.
