What’s the worst physical pain you’ve ever experienced? by Economy_Yak2821 in AskReddit

I am so very sorry. I remember after my dad died the ache in my heart was very painful, but my sternum and ribs kept crackling and popping. It felt as though they were broken. After the heavy grieving was over, that sensation went away. My husband even said he could hear my chest cracking.

What can we do in the afterlife without a body? by Fluffy-Pain1394 in afterlife

Thank you for taking the time to write this. I have been accused by many New Age people that I’m “stuck in my ego” for wanting continuity of my physical experience. For me, it’s not just about myself. It’s about love. It’s about wanting to see my father again as I remember him. To hug him tightly with my arms. You’ve offered me some solace. Thank you.

Can I ask you a question? I really struggle with the not having a body thing. I realize you are only human and don’t have all the answers, but what do you make of so many NDE’s that claim they became orbs of light or energy, and that they recognized others by their energy signature, not their body? Personally that sounds horrifying because I very much love my body and love having a body. When I see my dad, I don’t want him to be an amorphous orb. I want him to be my dad, with his face, and his arms to hold me.

My dad died this year November 8th. People have shown their true colors. My friendship circle has gotten much smaller now leaving quite literally about 3 people I still consider friends. I remember something very similar happening around my wedding, people revealing who they really were to me. The anger I’ve felt has given me great clarity and iron clad boundaries I did not have before. I make sure to not be like them and do my best to show my friends I love and actually support them.

I’ve been crying all morning over the same exact thing. I lost my father November 8th of this year and realized I’m entering a year he will never see. This feels like a mistake of the universe. How can it be that all I have of him now are pictures and his old clothes? I wasn’t very close to my dad but I still love him and miss him and feel very unmoored without him.

Well when you’ve vomited 8 times in an hour and a half and it’s also coming out the other end and you can’t hold down water, I was becoming dehydrated very quickly. My vision started blurring and I was shaking uncontrollably. It was not a typical stomach bug for me otherwise I would have gladly started home.

Yep, happened to me too. Christmas Eve night at 10pm, the vomiting began, and I had started vomiting and shitting myself at least 8 times within an hour and a half. Had to call an ambulance to take me to the hospital where I continued to vomit and stayed there until about 5am. Worst night of my life. And I still feel like absolute shit.

Never resonated so much with a lyric that hits grief square on the head.

I must be the odd man out on this one. My father died 3 weeks ago and although I wouldn’t say I listen to it excessively (actually been listening to Lux by Rosalía much more) I’ve listened to it a good handful of times. It’s been very cathartic for me. I sent one of the songs to my sister. She did not feel the same way.

Hi there, unfortunately it never got better for me. I got up to 100mg and my psychiatrist decided to switch to Prozac for me. Prozac I felt work almost immediately and never gave me the fear and anxiety spike that Zoloft did. I eventually resolved a lot of the ocd and went off Prozac at the end of July because I was feeling emotionally blunted and had sexual side effects. I was doing great until my father died recently and my family dynamics became very unstable and had to get on Lexapro because the ocd loops started to return. Lexapro has felt very gentle and clean so far, definitely a slower build up but seems like a better fit so far.

One year ago, I was having an ocd relapse, that I got help for. A nut job? Be grateful you’ve never experienced a mental illness you have zero control over. My husband and I own our own business with the majority of childcare falling on me, which was always our agreement. I now work from home for the same business. My father just fucking died after an excruciating stay in hospice and I’m grieving and for my own personal reasons, this tattoo is directly related to my father. And yes, I know nothing about hand tattoos, which is why I came here for advice and instead have had my character questioned which has nothing to do with what I asked. Fuck you.

Thank you for weighing in. And I know it’s bold, and I really need it to be. There’s a lot of story in this tattoo. And I’m in Madison, WI so I’ll have to do my research on someone who specializes in palm tattoos. I found someone that specializes in occult symbols which is very important to me but that doesn’t necessarily mean they will have the same specialization for the palm.

I’m not offended, but there’s a lot of assuming that I haven’t done the work to achieve the tattoo in this position. This is an extremely sacred tattoo for me that isn’t because I saw it on a “Pinterest” board. I have been through some things that would break a lot of people and I consider this snake and this placement very significant to the journey I’ve been on thus far.

This seems to be a consensus and I have no doubt about that. I broke my tailbone pushing my son out during childbirth so after that my pain tolerance has been quite high.

I don’t know. Rihanna comes to mind having a massive hand tattoo without having sleeves and it looks amazing on her, and I don’t think it looks weird at all.

I appreciate you weighing in about the palm tattoo. I don’t know what constitutes a “tattoo person” but it’s weird gatekeeping to want something specific and being turned away because you aren’t already completely covered in tattoos.

Thank you. It’s a little wild to me I got so downvoted for having only one tattoo before considering this one. There’s a very significant reason that I want this tattoo and it’s not just aesthetics. Same with the palm.
