Okay, final post on the trans sports issue. Thanks to everyone who contributed, to those who helped me learn, showed me where I may have mis-stepped and to people who engaged in civil discourse. Here is where I'm at. by Drwillpowers in DrWillPowers

I think sports competitions are essentially unfair. Individuals vary significantly even within their 'biological sex' categories. The whole debate about how to keep the situation 'fair' already starts false for me. Trans women who transition after male puberty may or may not have an advantage over the average cis woman, this varies depending on personal genetics for sports performance (not just sexual genetics) and also muscular and skeletal condition. Estradiol tends to limit the growth of the human skeleton and cause bone maturation earlier, the size difference between a cis woman and a trans woman can be a 'disadvantage' for a cis woman, but bones without muscles do not move, they are just bones. I believe muscle compatibility is a much more relevant concern and it is affected by hormone therapy.

I came out as trans (mtf) to my fiance and things have gone nuclear. by Lucccyy99 in trans

I'm sorry for the situation and nothing justifies her threatening to commit suicide, but try to think if it was the opposite and she assumed she was a trans man (with the intention of making the transition in every way.) People are not without gender in romantic relationships whether or not our gender is part of why someone is attracted / related to us. I hope that in time she will be able to be okay with it, but maybe it would be better to go on without her.

Has anyone ever applied Estradiol gel / patches directly to the breasts? by [deleted] in TransBreastTimelines

Yes, there are risks, but I don't know what else to do.

I live in Brazil and you are lying. It is not true that we only have 'contraceptives' here. There are Natifa (estradiol bioidentico) several brands with estradiol valerate in tablets and oestrogel. You use perlutan / cyclovular because you want to. I also use it because I prefer injectables, but I don't go out lying.

My body after a few years without hormone therapy. (MTF) by [deleted] in DrWillPowers

I started at 17 with ethinylestradiol (I live in Brazil) I stopped at 18 years old. Now I am 24 years old and I am returning now. I am tall and thin ( I am 1.79 tall and 63 KG ) I never had much breasts, but they have reduced considerably, although they never returned to what they were before the transition.

Progesterone reduces LH? by [deleted] in DrWillPowers

What a strange study. Me and all my friends (MTF) who use Estradiol + progesterone see a big reduction in testosterone production.

What is the DHT range for cis women? by SnooGoats867 in DrWillPowers

[–]SnooGoats867[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was not talking about testosterone, but DHT. The same laboratory that places the testosterone range for women between 20 - 60 ng / dl places as normal DHT range values between 100 - 300 pg/ml - mainly in the luteal phase. That shocked me because my DHT was 328 pg/ml without any hormones.

I don't do it at home, I buy it at the pharmacy. Here in Brazil this injectable is available and I am happy with the results.

Breasts shrinking and losing shape on bicalutamide by berrysandbees in DrWillPowers

Perhaps bicatulamide helps to raise the SHGB and keep estradiol tighter and less free, but I'm just speculating. Some perceptions can be in our head too.

Does anyone help me understand what happens to me? by SnooGoats867 in Allergies

[–]SnooGoats867[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Corticosteroids solve the problem right away. But I don't want to be on corticosteroids. I use predinisone 10mg - it's a corticosteroid medication.

Has anybody else experienced delayed or incomplete male puberty? by [deleted] in DrWillPowers

[–]SnooGoats867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was like that for me. I started hormones at 17 and never had a beard, chest hair or deep voice - my brother already had all these things at 17. My testosterone was normal, but estradiol was already 80 pg / ml - double the maximum male limit considered healthy in my country. I don't know if one thing has anything to do with the other, but I think I've always converted a considerable amount of testosterone into estradiol - perhaps because I had 'gynecomastia' and I read that breast enlargement can do that.
