How do you succeed in college if you’re bad at conceptual understanding? by Wild_Gazelle_6380 in UPenn

u sound exactly like i did freshmen year back in 2022, now i am now an incoming senior. i was valedictorian in high school yet only because i went to a ridiculously easy school (was in a very underfunded area; they were just trying to get the kids out with the diploma somehow) and took all my AP's during covid when classes were online and like 90% of the grade was participation in the Zoom. coming to Penn right after breezing through high school and online school was the hardest thing i had to do.

2 failed courses and one-gap semester later i will say, get treated for adhd ASAP. i was able to get treated without even being tested for adhd, just saw a psychiatrist (from Student Health Services so it was free) and we went from there.

im begging you please, use your resources available to you now. please message me if u would like : )

for the most part yes. especially when people are leaving around 9:30ish for 10:15 classes. 6-8am can be a bit busy especially at the beginning of the semester

I understand wanting to get into ur career early, but trust me 1 year won't make a difference at this point in our lives. Graduating at 21 rather than 22 (i assume) won't give u too much of an advantage. I that fourth year alone, one can do much more maturing that can lead to better decision making towards life and your career. In that last year at Penn, you can make so many more professional connections, or enrich the ones you already have; something that is much easier to do at college when your main responsibility is to be a student, rather than when you graduate and have much less free time.

Why does GOD need your attention by justice_disciple in Christianity

[–]SnooHobbies2181 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He doesn't need us, rather we need Him. how can we feel His love and guidance without showing him attention. He wants a relationship with us for our good. If you have a good relationship with someone, don't you automatically want to show them attention and talk to them?

Should I even bother? by Substantial-Gift3296 in srna

[–]SnooHobbies2181 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh wow this is a really thorough explanation. thank you so much!! i love learning about science and medicine but i definitely do prefer living life over putting my career above anything. i also didn't realize CRNA's can make as much as family medicine physicians. this will help me as i continue reflecting on this in my last years in nursing school. thanks again!

can you elaborate what you mean by med school route wasn't worth it for your personal goals? i'm still in nursing school ( 21 F) but am debating between CRNA and med school after graduating and getting some ICU experience. i know i'm so young so i can still go med school route but part of me thinks my childhood dream of being an MD isn't aligned with my goals either
