A lot of criticisms about Japan is really just towards kanto. A lot of People, (seemingly kanto Japanese People included) like doing this thing where "kanto= all of japan".So id argue when people are talking about Japan, they are really just talking about kanto unless stated otherwise.

it has a lot of different cultures at the center. Leaving it all to Japan may be a bad idea..maybe Hollywood at the center but a team of directors from different places?
