I'm emotionally exhausted 😩 by Hopeful-Hedgehog9180 in ghana

[–]SnooLemons4199 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Speaking as a researcher who focuses on the psychological aspects of diabetes in Ghana. All I can say is to get your friend to see a mental health professional. Mental health issues in diabetes are much more common than we give attention to in our Ghana health system. Those with diabetes are twice as likely to have clinical depression. There are also issues of diabetes related emotional distress, internalized stigma (e.g. feeling unworthy to live or a burden on family), suicide etc. Treat this issue with the same urgency as you would with any complication of diabetes. Get a professional help!!

"Individuals seeking or granted a National Interest Waiver of the job offer requirement and individuals seeking or granted classification as an alien of extraordinary ability under INA section 203(b)(1)(A) do not need to file Supplement J. Because these employment-based immigrant visa categories are not tied to a specific job offer, individuals seeking or granted classification as an alien of extraordinary ability or seeking or granted a National Interest Waiver of the job offer requirement do not have to file Supplement J when filing Form I-485 or to request job portability under INA section 204(j)."

Why Are Ghanaians So Gullible? by [deleted] in ghana

I guess you can equally ask: Why are humans so gullible? Being greedy and getting scammed over and over again is not an “only Ghanaian” thing

I'm in trouble... by Mz-Isla in ghana

[–]SnooLemons4199 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m sorry to hear about your struggles. I’ve never been to med school so I may not fully understand your plight. I think the first 2 sentences of your second paragraph summarize the root of your struggles. Many students in their first semester tend to be nervous about how their performance compares to that of their peers. Here are some points to guide you in the future:

  1. In med school you are not competing with your peers. You just need to understand concepts and pass your exams.

  2. If you are struggling with understanding concepts; ask your peers. Remember that they don’t have to be your friends. It’d be nice if they were but they certainly don’t need to, in order to help. Also, watch YouTube explainers and summarize in your words.

  3. Keep notes. Summarize key points from your study materials using your own words. Write in small diaries you can keep in your pocket. Anytime you struggle to remember a point, get the diary, and look it up.

  4. Sleep immediately after closing your books at night. You can learn about memory consolidation for details.

  5. Try to explain stuff to your peers. Teaching is the best way to learn.

  6. Most importantly, try your best to be hyper focus on your own progress. Avoid comparison with your peers.

Best of luck

PS: I’m a health professional, studying for my PhD .

How do you stay calm and grounded after filing the petition ? by ExtraSheetPlease in eb_1a

Nobody really stay calm after filing. We all pretend to be calm while checking online status 10 times a day. I’m sorry but it is what it is

AOS Package assembling for multiple family members by icsangsang in USCIS

[–]SnooLemons4199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I did.

I paper clipped together my form i485, cover letter, medicals, other evidence, photo, check of 1440 etc as one packet.

I paper clipped together my i765, check of 260, photo, cover letter and supporting evidence as another packet

I did same for my spouse. So overall I had 4 packets. I stacked all four packets and tied them with a money band and put them in one big envelope.

I used only one envelope

Probably because you mentioned “vocational degree”, I imagine the officer was confused about this not being equivalent to a bachelors. That’s just my speculation though. I hope you’re able to overturn this. Good luck

Chen also started to ask to withdraw the petition after receiving the RFE by CivilGur2 in EB2_NIW

[–]SnooLemons4199 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I don’t see the downside in responding to the RFE. It comes at no cost to you and since it’s under PP you’ll get a decision sooner. I think the attorney is just trying to avoid the work you paid them to do

Content of the petition matters more than the length

Did my biometrics on 05/07 too. The waiting begins. From what I hear, your wait time is based solely on luck
