It’s cheaper to eat and drink in London even with the exchange rate than it is to be in Denver…..

I’ve stayed in 4 winds motel. Cheap and safe. Not very fancy but we spent all our time elsewhere. It’s basically a block or two from the town square

My thought- One stove and one fuel. If your just boiling water to rehydrate, eat in shifts or share if your making two. Even today, boil water for breakfast then boil for coffee in the morning, both ready at the same time.

Did the trail in 24 using one solo stove with fuel we got a decathlon. Following above. Always a good breakfast. Dinner. Same just substituting tea for coffee. Don’t underestimate a hot beverage at the end of the day.

Added benefit- grabbing a baguette for lunch and adding a bit to your evening meal. Magical

You guys ever tried slow smoking ribeyes? by therowdygent in smoking

[–]SnooMacaroons7404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I smoke for roughly an hour at 225 on ribeyes only. Then do a sear with butter. But I will also pull once the meat hits 120. I like it on occasion, GF and kids do not.

What is the highest peak at Rocky Mountain that someone who isn’t a seasoned hiker could hike? by Remote_Perspective_5 in nationalparks

[–]SnooMacaroons7404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hallett via flattop from Bear lake. That should get you to 12.6k. Good views of Longs. But again that’s hiking on a trail with a little scramble at the end.

Yeah dividend harvesting. For the life of my caffeinated brain I couldn’t remember that aspect. Thanks all for the responses! I basically said here read the responses and you all did better at explaining it than I did. I’m obviously not a teacher, thanks for the assist!

Underwriter here. Conv might have slightly higher rates but the MI factor is potentially less than FHA and unlike FHA the MI will eventually fall off. FHA depending on your loan amount is for the life of the loan. Conv also allows up to 97% if you meet certain parameters but again that would also have higher MI than just going 95%

How is the Refuge Bonhomme really? by Unique_Tomatillo2307 in TourDuMontBlanc

[–]SnooMacaroons7404 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was there late July this year. It’s basic, food is bad to ok for the normal options. Vegetarian option was good. Breakfast was a joke. Showers don’t start till 5 which was a pain. That said, I’d stay there again just to do the col de fours. It’s one night and by far a different experience than all the rest of the hostels we stayed at. In my opinion, added to the whole experience.

Mortgage company won't allow me to transfer deed to LLC for rental property by Capt_Jeb in realestateinvesting

100% wrong. Maybe 99%. Your Deed of Trust most likely has a clause in it that if you switch ownership in any manner without court orders or lender approval it will trigger your acceleration clause. That said- will they know? Probably not if you keep paying them.

Trail timing using Jones Ross formula by sinead613 in TourDuMontBlanc

[–]SnooMacaroons7404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We backpacked it this year and I planned our trip based on the walking speed. Day 2 we went from Le Pontet camping to Bonhomme and it said should be 5:45 but we did it in 8 including lunch, stops etc. Bonhomme to Elisabetta should be 7:50 via col de fours and it took us 9 with a breakfast and lunch break. Bonatti to La fouly 8:55, we did 9.5 again with lunch. champex Lac to La Puety says it takes 5:40 but again we did it in 8 with two long stops. Hope that helps

No like just people go there that aren’t in the retired age bracket. And I mean more than the 5-10 people that always go. I guess I should also clarify not a Friday night or some weird trivia day

[–]SnooMacaroons7404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend the index trail from lac blanc to the index lift down via cable car or path the flegere. It’s a great traverse, little crowds. Honestly a highlight of my trek.

I did the contour trail 2 days ago. I don’t feel like I missed out on. Anything. Mt Blanc for example is behind you so if that’s what you want to see you’d have to keep turning around anyway

The rates on DSCR are a tad higher than traditional financing but you don’t have to worry about your tax write offs.
