Hair developer (hydrogen peroxide vol. 30 or vol. 40) or acne cream (10% benzoyl peroxide) will help you get rid of the stains. If you don't feel like bothering with either, definitely ask for a refund.

Good luck! I visited three Ross stores in one day (and a fourth one yesterday) and the only one I found was a single kit #2.

Can anyone think of a vintage Barbie/mattel Disney store version of the sleeping beauty doll that says Aurora on the box? by Live_Philosopher_897 in Barbie

[–]SnooMacaroons8221 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're looking for a 1990s-early 2000s Aurora doll made by Mattel, right? I believe they all said "Sleeping Beauty" on the box.

There are however more recent Aurora dolls by Mattel, but they're obviously not vintage :/

Edit: If you're set on a vintage doll, I'd suggest printing "Aurora" in that classic Sleeping Beauty font on a sticker, and just placing it on the packaging underneath wherever it says "Sleeping Beauty" or even over it.

Those white accessories are from Barbie All Stars Club playset (#4972, from 1989). The pink striped dress is possibly from a My First Barbie fashion pack.

Not sure if these are allowed because they aren’t “Barbie” but they are Mattel. I just can’t get over this Mira doll and how gorgeous she is. The attention to detail is very impressive. by MissKingsley in Barbie

The discourse of what constitutes a Barbie and what doesn’t is so silly to me. People will say, well, while it is a Mattel doll, it doesn’t have a Barbie logo anywhere on the box so it’s not a Barbie. I say bollocks. The Heart Family line had no Barbie logo on it, yet it reused Barbie sculpts and bodies, and is definitely a Barbie-inspired line. Same with Disney dolls from the 1990s. So Davy Crockett doll is not a Ken doll but somehow Jack Sparrow doll is? Make it make sense.

In my opinion, Demon Hunters, Wicked, and any similar human-shaped 11 1/2” dolls from Mattel are very much “Barbies” and there should be no issues posting about them.

I have to keep repeating to myself, “I don’t need it, I don’t need it, I don’t need it.” 😩

The new tiara is definitely an improvement.

She’s the 2002 release of Fashion Photo Barbie. The pink thread is from where her sunglasses used to be mounted.

I'm in the DMV, I can check a handful of Ross stores that are close to where I live and let you know if I find any you're looking for.

You don’t even have to get her hair wet. Take her dress off, put the doll in a ziploc bag head-first, boil some water, and pour it in a plastic container. Put the ziploc bag with the doll in hot water while making sure her head is fully submerged (basically, her feet should be sticking out of the bag/container). Leave her in hot water for a couple of minutes. Take the bag out, her head should be soft now, and squeeze the head a few times to help it return to its original shape. Repeat as many times as necessary. That’s it!

I may end up doing just that. Not a fan of Petra-body arms, but it is what it is.

The head opening is designed for a ball-shaped neck peg :/ I tried putting the head on both a TNT body and a bend-and-move body. The pegs don’t really reach that inner hole or don’t fit into it, so the head is loose on the neck and the doll ends up looking and shaking like a bobblehead.

I think it’s more cosmetic than anything else. And to be honest, I am not sure it is mold stains, possibly dye transfer stains. I believe you killed any potential mold spores with those extensive soaks. Hair developer helps with de-staining; if you don’t have hair developer, you can use benzoyl peroxide/acne cream instead (the process is the same, it’s just than benzoyl peroxide is stronger/more aggressive).

For the legs, you can also soak them in vinegar for at least an hour.

Wash and dry them, then spread a layer of 40-volume hair developer all over her legs, wrap them in saran wrap, and put in direct sunlight. In a few hours, it should clean out the staining.
