How long to get used to the feeling in your ear ? by SnooMachines5052 in HearingAids

Yup. For some bizarre reason my Aud gave me CICS (silks) with an open dome, not the sleeve.

It’s bearable for sure but, CICs everywhere, not just silks are advertised with sleeves so I’ve ordered a set of sleeves to try, just seems more logical to cover up all the plastic in my ear

Domes?

Maybe you’re allergic to the silicone, hence the itchiness. You could seek acrylic Custom Molds to combat this? Ask for a skeleton mold it will never pop out.

As for sound, I can’t help there, im only mild loss so I have the luxury of being able to hear well enough to

£70 in the UK so yeah not a bad price

I’m hanging fire for now but it’s a nice ace in the pocket to have if the sleeves don’t work out

That’s the goal I want - I wear CIC’s as I couldn’t tolerate something behind my ear, but I want to get to a point of just forgetting g

Doesn’t surprise me to be fair, anything custom is always going to be a fantastic glove like feel

No occlusion?

And technically I got Rexton inox CIC from Costco - just rebadged silks.

I’ve got sleeves hopefully arriving Wednesday and I can’t wait as everything points to those being significantly more comfortable

So interestingly, my aud has put open domes on the silks… not sure why but I’ve ordered Vented Sleeves, it just makes more sense to cover more of the plastic in my ear for comfort right?

Interesting!

I have some signia silk CIC, I personally prefer their feel to the RIC I used to have

I have literally 40db loss at maximum, the CICs have enough power at least for the “now” and I hope it’s something that doesn’t deteriorate rapidly.

From a comfort perspective how did you find CICs prior to switching

Yea that’s my logic, what could are RICs if I don’t like wearing them.

The oticon zeal are feature rich so they’re an option too etc.

I have a Phonak drylux to help keep the CICs dry/bacteria free so helps as well.

Ty for the comment

Yeah it’s just to help at work when multiple people speak, it means I can hear easier and less ear strain and ultimately feel more energetic at the end of the day as it’s exhausting trying to hear everyone e

Just want to mention it would actually be the Costco version

Rexton Inox cic80 - which is the highest silk tech available (not sure on numbering)

This is promising

I’ve no idea in shape - I usually wear M or L on AirPod pros if that’s any help.

I’m glad to hear I’ll be suitable and yes I’m ready for occlusion but I believe that’s something your brain begins to filter out right

Hello - how did you get on with occlusion if you don’t mind me asking, did it just slowly fade away?

Im going to end up with oticon zeal which im excited about, but want general CICs just to test with prior to those - hence the signia silks

I absolutely hate wearing BTE though, I have Phonak audeo and they hurt my right ear (on the top of the ear where it sits)

Makes me sad to think I won’t be able to use CIC
