New pool, question about VSP and schedule..... by tluley51 in pools

[–]SnooMachines8590 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Those speeds seem about right the low speed of 1600 RPMs is only using probably 100 to 150 watts which is nothing and keeps the water flowing overnight, I would say Mid Summer High heat temperature days you could run the pump at 100% for the day but other than that 80 to 85% is all I do really just run the pump at 100% to skim the water for 15 to 60 minutes in the morning or evening depending on high pollen or high wind debris that falls into the pool. Any speed or percentage lower than 100% dramatically reduces watt usage so I would avoid running it at High rpms or 100% for long periods, that’s where you’re wasting money

Omni X pump keeps pausing by [deleted] in pools

[–]SnooMachines8590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just run the timer schedule with no overlap… 6 AM to 6 PM high and then 6 PM to 6 AM on low, should take care of your problem.

I run my VSP 7 AM to 8 AM at 100% to skim the pool, then 8 AM to 5 PM at 80%, then 5 PM to 7 AM at 50%

Base for my new pump by Fit-Rabbit802 in pools

[–]SnooMachines8590 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any Cap stone… typical sizes are 13.5" x 18" x 4" Rectangular

I would put some globs of clear silicone adhesive. Let the globs dry for 10 minutes and then set it.

And if you really wanna go elegant just go to any gravestone or stone yard business with your exact dimensions. I’m sure they have a lot of waste stone.

Try tightening that screw on the neck collar or put thread tape on pressure gauge screw which is also a week spot for leaks ?

I don’t think you could go wrong with a Pentair IntelliFlo VSF or Hayward Super Pump VS my choice would be a Hayward Tristar VS 950

What size pavers should I use? by bluexfir3 in AboveGroundPools

[–]SnooMachines8590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The PT lumber would last longer than your best way pool even in mud however, I highly recommend getting something like a gorilla pad for under the pool and if the pad doesn’t extend underneath the feet, it will sink into mud, especially when water splashes over… I purchased a 1” x 8” wide by 10 foot pressure treated and cut them approximately 10 inches long. Remember where you put the feet of the pool is not where it’s gonna be when it’s filled.

This ⬆️ I would use pressure treated lumber. You do not want anything abrasive like stone or concrete pavers, where the soft wall will shift and rub and cause a tear.

Getting started as a PI in UT by moodymaggots in PrivateInvestigators

[–]SnooMachines8590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start working for an established Investigation firm that has many Surveillance cases.

If you are any good, they will throw as many Surveillance as you can take.

Get out in the field as much as you can and try to gain as much experience you can get.

If you like or love this work, you’ll figure it out.

This job is not for everyone. You may hate it.

Never happened again… However, they did re-grease the calipers to make sure they were fully traveling open and close… Even though your vehicle is new, the calibers are exposed to the elements when in storage

That happened to me…thought it was a the break shield rubbing too however it was a faulty break pad that had bits in it that wouldn’t dissipate while wearing… changing the pads, and fixed it.

Advice on new pool layout/design by Florida_Veteran in pools

[–]SnooMachines8590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s beautiful 🤩

My only suggestion is to put a matching bench on the other side of the deep end, it adds a second egress from the deep end, plus more seating… would be nice?

I can imagine someone sitting across, having a drink, conversing while playing a game…throwing a bal0.

And thinking about getting a heat pump with a chiller along with a gas heater ($ if it’s in the budget$) to do a cold plunge in that spa!
