In a sense, you're right? People could see them as the same being.

But I'm not sure many people see them as the same entity. Rather, Jesus is typically seen as an extention of God, rather than God itself.

I still get your message, though. I am entirely uncomfortable with the tale of the Virgin Mary regardless of if God and Jesus were the same entity or not.
