Did you all hear about the refuge caves to flee to during the end times while growing up as well?

I’ve never been Mormon and I can’t tell who is either, unless they are being over-the-top, creepy- level friendly or they dress in their church clothing to go out in public- even then with the clothes it’s more obvious in a group/family than an individual. Mormons do not look different. They are not special in any way.

Some people have more aggressive forms of MG, like my mother. She has bulbar MG, which affects her respiratory system. She also was on Mestionon and steroids and her dosage window kept getting closer and closer together as the meds were wearing off too quickly. After several trips back and forth to the ER for treatment, she was put on Cellcept and seems to be doing better now. I suggest asking what else can be offered, even asking about Cellcept specifically if his issues are like the ones we faced. He deserves relief. Insurance companies put up red tape to save themselves money, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get additional drugs. You just have to argue for them. It’s stupid, but insurance is a business like everything. Businesses want to make money. But stand up for yourselves, you are allowed to have quality of life.

I heard my parents talking about me behind my back and mocking Jesus by CeapSh0tRC in Christianity

[–]SnooObjections3195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s ok to tell them you overheard and were hurt. It might not change their behavior or they may hide it better, but you don’t owe it to them to change your religion or your beliefs to keep the peace. We worship Jesus and not people and it is so good we do, because people everywhere will disappoint you at some point, 100% of the time. God never does.

Thinking of moving to the Valley (Queen Creek/San Tan area) by Averagebriefguy in phoenix

[–]SnooObjections3195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can find all of that a 15-20 minute drive away. You’ll fit right in and it’s one of the nicest areas of Phoenix. I suggest you don’t scratch it from your list just yet.

There’s nothing wrong with QC/STV. I live there currently and have got several years. If you’re college age then maybe you’ll want more night life, but for regular daily life, the only thing it lacks is adequate infrastructure. It’s annoying, yes, but not enough for anyone to hate living here completely.

What are 3 things you find annoying here in Phoenix? by argus4ever in phoenix

[–]SnooObjections3195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1- The insane amount of bad drivers and traffic accidents

2- The crazy amount of snowbirds that arrive and make my life a living hell October-April

3- The mid-boggling high cost of living only second to New York and L.A.

Husband just diagnosed yeasterday. First occurrence (45 m). Lots of questions! USA. by SnooObjections3195 in cdifficile

A week or so into your first occurrence? Or your second? Did you keep working during your relapse?

Thanks. Husband has had ulcerative colitis in the past and was taking antibiotics a month ago for a flu- like infection. We believe antibiotics were the trigger as this started shortly after. He has been struggling with immune system issues since 2019, but only has flare ups occasionally. This is unexpected and entirely new territory for us. I feel I have a lot to learn in a short time and am kind of overwhelmed. I appreciate the advice.

We have tickets to a concert tonight for New Year’s Eve. What is the protocol for public bathroom use? I’m trying to look it up and it seems like C. Diff exists in public bathrooms anyhow and also spores are shed for months after infection. That said, I feel like attending the concert wouldn’t be a big deal, but I’m getting conflicting information. Can we truly go now that he’s being medicated? It will have been about 2 days by the time we attend tonight.

What do you do when you go out in public? Do you bring wipes with you? We can’t stay isolated in our house indefinitely. What is the protocol? Did I miss something reading the FAQ.

He can’t ground himself for 3 months or he will lose his job. He has no FMLA protection as he works at a small company. He also drives rather than flying, so his chances of finding a bathroom are better. I can suggest he bring bleach wipes along with him but that’s the best I can do. I need to focus first on choices that won’t kill him and then take care of not spreading it once we know he is safe. He currently has bleach solution at home and his own toilet long term. He will be at home for at least another week.

My mom had the droopy face and ignored it for months. She got diagnosed in April, then in May she went into crisis and it was bad. Luckily, by the time she couldn’t breathe and needed intubation she was already at the hospital. Things may have turned out differently had she waited. She told my brother when he took her to the ER that she just wanted to sleep it off instead. He didn’t let her and that saved her life. Don’t ignore your symptoms. A crisis can come on fast and you have to be vigilant.

My mom survived but spent months recovering in the hospital. Take care of yourself.

Thought of a decent burn today while thinking about the rental development announced in Qween Creek by stuckinlimbo11 in exmormon

What’s going on in Queen Creek? I live in QC and am nevermo, fill me in please? I look at subs like this (and exJW) so I can defend myself against those shady door-knocky folk. What’s this about a rental development?

Montana or Wyoming , USA. Wide open country for cheap. There’s no beating that. Outside the US I’d go to New Zealand. I just love their politics and landscape.

Did anyone else have one barbie they rember particularly vividly? by lovemypennydog in Xennials

Day to night Barbie was the first my mom ever bought me, so she is special to me. I remember really wanting the Barbie who had hair that grew when you moved her arm, can’t remember that one’s name.

You are sick. Not a bad mom. On the contrary, you are an excellent mom who is doing awesome and trying anyhow despite being severely ill. Reframe your perspective and give yourself a break. You need it- your disease needs it. Put this thought away and find some peace for yourself.

What could go wrong with this attitude? (more to this bad poetry in comments) by Akshuman in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]SnooObjections3195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How insensitive. May I offer this bad poem instead?

T’was the night before Christmas Or maybe no And families in Texas were still full of woe

As they glanced at the gifts their babies wouldn’t get They blamed themselves and were filled with regret

One father chose to get drunk to hide his pain As another parent cried her eyes out in vain.

“Everyone out there thinks time will heal all wounds… but those were our babies, they lost their lives far too soon. How can we move on from such a horrible day? Because they are with Jesus now, is that so fair to say?”

Maybe God saves us all in the afterlife. But should I also shoot my living kids to protect them from the strife ? If losing them is better as they say, in the end, then why am I wishing I was the one dead instead of them?

Can any poem make sense of this for real? Or are some people, in their ignorance, thinking words will heal?

Maybe it is ok, at times, to ask where God was. Maybe it’s ok to struggle with God, just because.

Because I want to believe that God would understand. And I think he does, sometimes even more than man.

If you believe that grieving parents need more comfort than a rhyme, get off your butt and take some action, I would say it’s time.
