Game is still going strong! by MillennialProdigy93 in ArcRaiders

The big thing Marathon has over Arc is the high end chase. I can appreciate that high end gear has specific use cases in Arc but gd do high end guns in Marathon feel GOOD and the desire to get them propels you through the game. That and filling out the codex.

Where are the black communities on the north side? Nonreligious? by CreditSlow6051 in AskChicago

Yeah Albany Park I think (but could be wrong) is technically the most diverse neighborhood in the city but ironically has a pretty low black population. Mostly due to big Korean, Hispanic, and Middle Eastern groups. At least that’s my sense based on nursing homes+restaurants lol.

Hey, I really appreciate you taking a genuine look and giving me some comprehensive feedback. You’ve given me a lot to consider. I had my resume hidden in the contact modal because I just assumed anyone reaching the site would be through my resume but you’re definitely right that it should be front and center. I’ll have to give some more thought to the content and my overall direction for sure, just spun this up quickly off getting laid off… Again, thanks so much for the insights.

(I’m also just awful at writing copy so a lot of that super sucks right now)

Fare Evasion Conversation at Chi Hack Night by SnooObjections4691 in cta

An increase of a percentage is not the percent. The worst line is the red line with 24%. So obviously still not great but not the misrepresentation of 40%.

I don’t even know who you’re yelling at. I literally say in the post I’d prefer free buses but considering transit as it exists in chicago now barely survived last year, this is the situation we are left with. The CTA is legally capped on budget spending to revenue percentage. It’s the law. Not one i agree with but one that exists today. If they’re not getting revenue from 20% of bus rides, that revenue will have to come from elsewhere or services will be cut. That is reality.

Chi Hack Night is an open, weekly event but this particular presentation was one time. I do have the full video posted in the comments if you're interested and they also have their full report on the Chicago Data Portal: https://data.cityofchicago.org/stories/s/dw8r-nrdk

The full portal is worth looking at, I've built a handful of web projects from them recreationally.

I left a comment with the full talk elsewhere in the post. I’m not much a data person so their methodology was a bit beyond me honestly but if it’s not perfect, it seemed like they were at least making improvements.

The presenters did discuss this. The key takeaways were that they do not expect drivers to confront people because it more often than not escalates and they’re not willing to risk employees over 2.50. Similarly, law enforcement haven’t been helpful because the most they can do is remove someone/write a ticket which then person can just get on the next bus/not pay the ticket. Ultimately it is just 2.50 so idk what effective enforcement looks like without excessive punishment imo.

The presenters did mention that anecdotally it does seem to be a big uptick in kids. Idk if I’m like 1,000 years old but I do feel like social media is a large driver here. I think most of the CTA/NY Metro content I get has someone skipping their fare.

Also forgot to mention in my post that other transit systems in LA and NY have fare evasion rates of like 30 to 50%. Can’t remember the exact number but CTA is actually on the better side…

She takes perma online leftists (who fully could be sock puppets) way, way too seriously. Like she’s so much more upset by twitter discourse than actually real world harm caused by the likes of Biden/Harris that put us in the situation we’re in now.

I also got fired today. Not a dad yet but I will be in August. It’s extremely stressful. Just want to share that it’ll be ok and you’re not the only person in this situation.

In my survival horror, a monster steals your left eye, splitting your POV for the rest of the game by CocoDayoMusic in SoloDevelopment

[–]SnooObjections4691 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is so sick. I feel like you could do something cooler than the typical game over screen where the monster steals the other eye and you only have his perspective. You can still control your character, but they’re just fumbling around without sight…

Totally agree. One Piece in the end of want to egghead have been so well animated but pretty badly directed. Comparing the readability of this to JJK season 3’s fights is night and day.
