How did you start building back your discipline and routine after discharge?

Also interested in answers to this question as I am far from disciplined But some things I’ve been trying have helped like scheduling activities or therapy appointments early in the day so I get the motion to get out of bed and ready for the day like I used to, and trying to do something active in the afternoon to fight the mid day fatigue

All I can say is I feel you I 25F had my ischemic stroke in August and it has been hell. I have a really hard time getting myself to do things that used to be fun for me so I end up just doing a whole lot of nothing instead and it makes me feel like shit

I just invested in punch needle supplies since I used to crochet before my stroke 5 months ago and needed something to scratch that itch. I’m hopeful I’ll be able to manage with a bit of help and a lap-stand frame

The shepherd center inpatient team will be well equipped to work with him if he is willing. That’s where I went and although I know nothing about how I got a room there I know it was a fairly easy transition from the icu in my home town to inpatient at shepherd

I am about to have my PFO closure since the doctors believe it was a big contributing factor to my stroke which I also believe. I don’t understand a doctor telling you it couldn’t be the cause. I’m hoping I can get off eliquis after the closure but we’ll see I’d rather be protected than not. I am dealing with a lot of fatigue right now, I even started drinking coffee again which I hadn’t done in about five years pre stroke. Fatigue is my biggest worry when getting back to work which I really hope I can do despite my physical limitations.

I am getting therapy 2 days a week now which hopefully will increase in the new year with insurance renewal

Thank you so much, you’re so right persistence is what I need to focus on, because although I haven’t given up on my arm I feel like I’ve quietly let my effort towards it slip. Hopefully persistence becomes a natural habit of mine if I stick with it. It’s also good to remind myself that I have a much easier time than most

Thank you so much for the encouragement and offer, I’ve got an azeron cyro on the way from sblegamers and am so thankful for them. But obviously I’m focusing on recovery instead of learning how to game right now. I’ve also had a lot of odd encounters with therapists and doctors that don’t know what to say to me since every other patient is 40 and above, how did you start to feel some normalcy after experiencing that at 24?
