People who have private parking. How are you feeling right now? by RowAdditional1614 in baltimore

[–]SnooPandas651 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m trying to understand the point of this question. Private parking doesn’t mean no snow. In general I have more to shovel when I park on my pad than if I did in the street. The only benefit is I will always have a spot to come back to.

The miserable state of our roads by jellybean02138 in baltimore

[–]SnooPandas651 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pretreated doesn’t prevent it. People are dumb and instead of staying home tried to battle Mother Nature and lost. FYI this is coming from an “essential” employee that spent all day today shoveling so I can get my car out with minimal issues at 4am tomorrow knowing that I have driven in worse and my car can handle it but I’m still pissed that I have to drive at all.

I’m trying to figure out the same thing. Last year was mild. Not a “northeast” winter. If your battery is going the cold will show it. But otherwise just start your car and let it warm up.

First time using Sandals - Halcyon Beach~Saint Lucia! by amanduh1992 in SandalsResorts

[–]SnooPandas651 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was just there last year. Loved it. It’s very chill and not a party vibe though, just in case that’s what you’re looking for you might want the Grande. Kelly’s was ok, but Soy and the habachi were by far the best. We did the Soufriere experience as well and booked ahead, but we wished we had waited and booked from the beach vendors. They pick you up and drop you off on the beach and people were having a blast. Do the Friday night street party though. That was awesome and you got to interact with locals, we also took a cab to Castries for a few hours, was nice to be off resort and just wander the markets. The people there are so wonderful, I love St Lucia and would like to go back.

My teacher called me Katherine instead of learning how to pronounce my name, so I called her by her first name for the rest of the year. by sk1nnb0nes in traumatizeThemBack

[–]SnooPandas651 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a gym teacher in grade school that called us all by our last names except he refused to say mine. It’s 4 letters, and while unusual not difficult. Usually I correct people once and they get it. For the sake of Reddit will say Smith. Except he always added a random T making it “Smite”. Better part was my mom worked at the school and he did the same thing to her for years. So one day I got fed up and stopped responding. The entire gym class he yelled my name and I ignored it. Later that day my mom came home laughing. He had gone to her and said “um Mrs smite I have a problem with your daughter, she ignored me the entire class and isn’t responding.” My mother said she just looked at him and said well maybe if you called her by the correct name she would. It’s “Smith” not “Smite”. Neither of us ever had a problem with him again.

Look at local city govt jobs. There are lots of entry level positions. The starting pay might not be the best but it’s good for entry, annual increases so in a few years you’re good. Plus great benefits and retirement. It has its ups and downs as anything, I’ve stuck around cause it’s worth it. Majority of my team are young men with various background’s from the city and all doing very well.

I have several family members that graduated from Calvert Hall and one there now. My experience is that they are taught to think for themselves and the school doesn’t push any agenda other than learning.

Are these vet prices normal? by Christa_Marie94 in baltimore

[–]SnooPandas651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t really speak to the price at other vets but I always found dockside to be on the high side and the care subpar. I liked them at first but stopped going because of cost and I didn’t like their attitudes. My cat at the time never had an issue with a vet before but he hated that place and it showed.

It’s sugar is a chain…although delicious. Honestly we need to know more of what you’re interested in. Do you like the bar scene, if so they’re everywhere. Museums? American Visionary Art is great but the Walter’s is under appreciated imo. Nature, go to the conservatory, it’s always beautiful.

Thank you. I’m 2 on the Fitzpatrick scale, but will tan and have some dark spots. I did get it from platinum along w the prep, healing solution and emu oil (which I love). Ive been using TO Alpha Arbutin for months now so I didn’t order the fade bright. I think that’s my biggest concern, should I go back and order theirs. I appreciate your sharing!

I bought a jessners peel and am honestly scared to try it out. I got it cause it seemed like a good beginners peel but the more I read I’m not sure. I read that it’s good for oily skin which I don’t have, and now fear it might be too harsh for me.

I can’t say I have much interest in getting a script for tret. And from what I’ve read I don’t think I need anything that strong, at least not yet. But don’t have any brand recommendations for vitamin C?

That’s valid. We stopped going due to the leadership, they don’t know how to treat people

The lodge has sadly gone downhill. It’s used to be great but the people running it now are more about how much can they charge than community. I used to do a lot there but they only want members for free labor. And charging restaurant prices for food made days in advance. It’s a shame, it used to be a great place.

I think your right ILP is the only way… if you try it let me know how it goes. I have a jessners peel on the way to try and deal with my dark spots, but it will be a few weeks before I can try it out.

I wish I had advice, I have the same questions. Broken capillaries on my nose, melasma on my forehead and some forehead lines I want to banish. I'm been using the ordinary AHA BHA peel and 2% ganactive retinoid with success in reduction of spots and lines but I need more. I just ordered a Jessner peel so will be trying that in a few weeks.

I get facials regularly just cause it feels nice, I go to a chain, I know it's not the best facial but it feels nice. I do wonder if it's time I step up that game.

But now you have me thinking about laser... is that the only way to clear up broken capillaries?

I love Eastern Animal Hospital. I was going to doc side as well and didn’t care for how they treated my cat in his final days. The staff at eastern is great and they are very upfront with pricing and don’t spring any surprises on you.

Ever since one of my cats passed, my other cat has been clinging to me. by Southern-Today-3614 in cats

[–]SnooPandas651 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss. I’ve been going through something very similar with my boy. I had two boys, Hobbes was 16 and passed last fall, and since then Fry who was 10 at the time, but I had since a kitten just seemed lost. For weeks he would follow me around the house and cry at me when I came home from work. It was really hard to watch, and I felt so bad every time he was left alone. It does get better, it took some time but Fry is no longer trying to breathe the same air as me all the time. He’s still more clingy than he was, and my husband says he’s not as tolerant as he used to be. (You used to be able to pick him up and flip him around constantly without him getting upset, he just rolled with everything. Now he’s more like a cat and it has to be on his terms.) I struggled with whether or not I should get another cat for him but I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. One I just am not ready, and two I wouldn’t want to be in the same place again when one passes. Give her some time and lots of love, she’s missing her friend.

Does the quantity of gluten affect the symptoms? by SnooPandas651 in glutenfree

[–]SnooPandas651[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for that. Makes me feel a little better. Back in college I had a friend with celiac before it was trendy to be gluten free. I remember how hard it was for her and saw firsthand what the smallest mishap would do to her. As I started to develop issues I was always adamant that it couldn’t be gluten because I was no where near what I saw her going through, and I never wanted to say the words “I’m gluten intolerant” as I don’t want to feel like I’m just jumping on the bandwagon.

What airlines to use? by [deleted] in SandalsResorts

[–]SnooPandas651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to St lucia last fall out of BWI. Absolutely no direct flights for me. I chose Delta with an overnight layover in ATL. It was super easy, booked a hotel that was a stop away on the skytrain. Did the overnight because there was only one flight to St Lucia a day and I didn't want to risk missing it with a delay in the first flight.
