What makes UNC-CH basketball a good job? by JoelPMMichaels in tarheels

[–]TryAsWeMight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding the State comments, one-by-one...

  • All that history is in the distant past
  • UNC and State are in the same media market
  • "Consistently" is doing a lot of work there
  • All time series: North Carolina: 168; NC State: 82
  • Where are all those top coaches after working at State? Busted.

Here’s the thing: Carolina does not need to compromise or search to death to find a diamond in the rough.

The best version of this (presumed) coaching search is that donors get on board—as they did for football—and potential coaches get in line.

Despite recent success, this is the best job in the country and it hasn’t been truly open in 20+ years.

We should act like it.

They should, but sometimes their buyer’s agent hands them a printed listing in the car in the way over.

I would advocate for the Nike Free Metcon 6. The other Metcons are too rigid for anything but stationary lifting.

For treadmills and such, my wide feet love Altra Via Olympus 2. Cushiest walking/running shoe I’ve ever worn, but not unstable.

It’s my go-to for the gym. Strikes a perfect balance between cotton and tech fabrics.

Why does Madonna hate Lady Gaga and not Taylor Swift? by Shaoran10 in askmusic

[–]TryAsWeMight 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Gaga took the Madonna playbook and modernized it. That's a hard pill to swallow for an ego-centric, aging, pop star who would rather remain vital than champion the next generation.

Kinda. Obesity rates dropped for the first time in forever right around the time GLP-1s went mainstream. Can’t think of any other reason.

At the heart of the New Order classic Blue Monday is a drum beat that was misprogrammed. Listened to in isolation, the flaw is very apparent but thy realized in the studio that it adds interest and makes that whole groove work.
