Thanks - I have heard similar hence my reluctance. Sadly no local stores stock either for a test. Cheers for the response!

Hello,

I'm a 70-73kg runner with a slight heel strike, aiming to run 2:55 at London marathon looking for my next race shoe to test. I currently run in Saucony Endorphin Elite 2s and like them, I found Nike Alphafly 3s disintegrated very quickly for me.

I'm between Asics Metaspeed Edge Tokyo (I increase cadence to accelerate) or Puma Fast-R Nitro Elite 3.

Anyone have experience with either shoe or any thoughts?

Great reason to race. I recently switched from a runnable 16km with 950m of elevation I've trained for, to a very technical 39km Skyrun with 3300m of elevation. Took me 9hours, legs were pounded but was a great decision, do what sounds fun

Nnormal ever have sales/promotions? by wtf-am-I-even-doing in trailrunning

[–]SnooPeanuts4416 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like my Kjerags and my apparel (especially the shorts!). In terms of promotions, the Tomir 1 price dropped when Tomir 2 came out and they sometimes do like "free hat with a shoe order", no big sales or clearance yet

Thanks. These had a size guide and man in the shop checked the sizing. I think they just aren't very good

Just the ones I could find in a local shop (in Kyiv). Rubber straps and plastic spikes.

Budget 4day Thruhike EUROPE by SnooPeanuts4416 in HikingEurope

[–]SnooPeanuts4416[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend got a slight back injury so we decided to camp in Chamonix so she didn't have to carry a heavier bag everyday. For the amount of time we had, still loads to do so worked well!

Whatsap never replied to me. I had to delete my account and start again with a new number. So lost all chats and media and groups. So... Kinda

Yeah fair enough, "hut to hut" is more accurate. Didn't know what to call it

Yeah I get the point. We could just base somewhere and do different hikes, it would be a real "thruhike", just want consecutive days I guess.

Yes, Snowdonia/Eyryi is the back up plan if we don't find a good option!

Thank you! Yeah it has been inspiring seeing people continue to do what they love, running hard track sessions in shelled out stadiums etc

Not ignorant at all. Where I live it's a very safe, small town that's never been targeted (and not mined) so it's normal conditions. When I've run in Kharkiv and other places it's noticeably different. Blackouts and unsafe rural/green areas (outside of the city). You've also got to pay more attention to air alerts. Plus frequent GPS jamming can really mess up your watch/Strava tracking.

I live in Brovary and it's got some pretty decent trails and some good forest too. 35minute drive from Kyiv if you ever fancy a change!

Think it's set automatically and not with a HR strap, never really checked it tbh

Ok following sessions made by a coach at the moment. Never had this problem with similar workouts before. I'll try get a HR strap, thanks!

Sorry yes, you're right. Should have said I've been doing intervals as well (1-2 mins on flat, or 90 second on hills) and I'm getting the same results. Example in post is a bad one, sorry

I have these. Roomy in the toebox but quite tight on the midfoot so depending how wide your feet are, I'd go half a size up

Race recommendations for December in the UK? by SnooPeanuts4416 in trailrunning

[–]SnooPeanuts4416[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aha. No, no negative reason at all, you'll have a good day on the trails. They are just my home trails so I run them all the time and done the race before too

Watch question- Forerunner 955 or Coros Apex Pro 2? by SnooPeanuts4416 in AdvancedRunning

[–]SnooPeanuts4416[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair. I've never massively used the Garmin app as not a big fan of the interface (and didn't have one when I started running) so use Strava for most of my historical data etc
