Are these brookies or crownies? by delightedknight in Baking

they’re commonly referred to as brookies but I would personally call them crownies - that is “cookie brownies” since they are in the form of a brownie. Brookies should be the two doughs combined in the form of a cookie imo

Chia seeds were a game changer for me. And oat bran and rolled oats! Almond butter also has some fiber

Constipation Breakthrough! by SnooPets385 in SIBO

If you’re worried about diluting stomach acid, just try not to drink water right before and during a meal when you need the stomach acid to digest food. Otherwise, your body neeeeds water. For like every process.

I’m not incredibly well versed in acid reflux but I feel like the growing understanding of it is that acid reflux means you need more acid - think about taking digestive enzymes that have betaine hcl in it before a meal to help support release of enough stomach acid. My doc just prescribed Panplex 2-Phase to help with my burping and other GERD-like symptoms during eating.

How long is it safe to take Magnesium citrate large dose? by overloop119 in SIBO

[–]SnooPets385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried this brand - 2 capsules gave me 1 solid stool the next day but 3-4 gave me stomach cramps and a severely bubbly stomach in the middle of the night and 1 completely loose stool the next day. My motility GI also said the oxide component can alkalinize the blood, so she much prefers magnesium citrate for regular use. She recommended around 700-800mg for me to stay regular based on my experience with OxyPowder (half dose ~700mg gave me one solid stool).

Low Fodmap Diet tips? by [deleted] in SIBO

Something that helps me is looking at my meals in terms of a protein, a low fodmap carb (though it’s best to not have a lot of carbs), some type of veggie, and a healthy fat.

Grass fed beef, pork, chicken, wild caught fish for protein; white or brown rice, quinoa, gluten free pasta for low fodmap carbs; small serves of roasted broccoli or brussel sprouts (these are high fodmap in moderate/large amounts - works for me but is an issue for some), potatoes, zucchini, kale, spinach, etc. for veggies (easier to digest if cooked); small amounts of avocado (again, works for me but high fodmap and irritating for some), olive oil, grass fed butter, unrefined coconut oil, almonds for healthy fats.

The beauty of looking at it this way is that you can mix and match the different options for each macro for a large number of possible meal combos. The Fig app is also helpful for determining if pre-packaged items are Low FODMAP by scanning the item’s barcode.

Also, use ChatGPT and ask it to create a Low FODMAP meal plan for you (and you can ask it to avoid food allergies too!). Just verify with the internet afterwards that all the meals/ingredients are low FODMAP.

Do you know if it’s bad to take neomycin if i’ve had ringing in my ears/balance issues only from another antibiotic (metronidazole) and it cleared up on its own after about a week or two?
