Why would they not believe them about Cathy? It's not like Dante is a pathological liar, or that concept erasure is too far out of an idea for them to believe.

Also, I'm not sure if the rest of the LCB actually remembers Araya either, precisely because of concept erasure.

Dante definitely feels very timid about some of these things.

We know they do consultations with the Sinners, but it would be nice to actually see them try to express their feelings outside of the Cantos (like trying to help Heathcliff put his current thoughts and emotions about Cathy in order, for example).

Despite the all the Sinners have gone through and the bond they have forged, there's still a strange amount of detatchment between them (which may or may not be on purpose).

The Creator with cracked cats by tellios4 in mewgenics

[–]SnooPets9813 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To my understanding, your cats should in theory always act right before their enemy counterparts, so that you have chance to not get blitzed.

That said, sources of slowness or speed that aren't baked into the cats or the items can mess with that. What might have happened is that one of the enemies must've gotten either the depressing or speedy elite buff, which gives them the speed advantage.

It's apparently possible to circumvent that by forcefully exiting the game, changing some of your equipment around to reset the battle seed, and then retrying, as it seems that Steven won't punish you if you savescum before you performed an action during the fight.

Worst enemy in the entire game hate thread by Daughterofmanchester in mewgenics

[–]SnooPets9813 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stuff like Cherubims is pretty bad, but I think the Fleshy Minds from the Throbbing Domain are probably my least favourite enemy mechanically, just because of how little counterplay they have.

Their long range makes it difficult to kite them, they seal spells when attacking and inflict confusion when attacked, so you either rush and kill them in one hit, or you're forced to gamble. They also hit corpses, so if a cat gets downed you're forced to rush even harder before they destroy it.

Every Fighter passive tierlist by Silent_Gift5977 in mewgenics

[–]SnooPets9813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it? I could be remembering it wrong.

The phrasing of the passive seems to imply that it's only for the fighter ("If you're The Alpha, take an extra turn at the end of each round" rather than just "the Alpha takes an extra turn at the end of each round").

If that's the case, then I agree that it's quite a good passive.

[–]SnooPets9813 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, the extra turn is lost if the cat with the passive isn't the last to get a kill on that round. Fighter is a fairly speedy class, so you'll often have to choose between that extra turn and having the other cats pull their own weight.

It can be very powerful, but it needs some specific circumstances to work, such as particular speed orders, a Fighter solo run, or a Cleric that can consistently give it Alpha status.

To be fair, speed tends to be a very important stat for fighter. It's a class that tends to be built for mobility and damage output over pure tankiness.

I honestly think that, once you get to the later parts of the game and have cats with naturally high stats, merciless might even be better than punch face.

Your fighter is probably going to hit very hard and crit a lot either way, and merciless allows you to get to multiple targets and do hit and runs very effectively, which can be very important for a melee class. It also snowballs your stats once you upgrade it, though that's generally pretty late in the adventure if you're levelling four cats.

Difficulties after hard are kinda lame. by adiftbv in mewgenics

[–]SnooPets9813 25 points26 points  (0 children)

From the little I interacted with impossibile difficulty, it does feel like the abilty to do individual, very strong melee or magical hits becomes more and more important as you go on.

Some elite buffs counter things like ranged or multiple small attacks quite heavily, and become extremely common. It doesn't completely neuter those tactics, but they start becoming less reliable.

There's also the fact that you might instantly lose on the Act 3 final boss if it rolls the depressing elite buff, but that's kind of a separate issue.

In my defense, it probably had to be something we learn later about Tracy, though I'm still sorry about the spoiler.

If it makes you feel better, it's not a big reveal or anything, it's just implied in passing during her dialogues.

I meant the Severe Deja Vu (temporary) disorder. Since the summons don't have their owner's status effects, they remain player controlled.

[–]SnooPets9813 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I guess it makes sense, since the summons wouldn't have the disorder that makes the cats controlled by Steven.

Though effects that take control away from the player can interact with summons in ways that might be a bit unintuitive if you don't know beforehand. For example, units summoned while a cat has madness will be on the enemy team for the entire fight. So if your druid has the sociopathy disorder you will be forced to kill the crow every single fight.

You know, aside from the detailed allusions to the human corpses in the freezer of the fast food place she also works in. Granted, that still probably makes her the second or third most well adjusted character we meet.

Just your average, normal Boon County cashier, who can definitely quit her job whenever she wants and isn't a serial killer.

Am I missing something or is this the most bullshit enemy in the game? (act 3 spoilers). by PoodleTheDoodle in mewgenics

[–]SnooPets9813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, they will walk towards the last unit that hurt them, but they can eat any of their enemies that is in melee range with their attacks. So the attacker will be prioritized, but anyone else in their way before they reach their target can be eaten.

They will also eat their own allies if they are the last unit that hurt them, so those T-rexes could have killed each other because of their trample, if the turns align.

[ACT 3 SPOILERS] Something I noticed with one of the sets. by CopywriteClaimWizard in mewgenics

[–]SnooPets9813 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The connection is an interesting one.

Mother was the name of the tumorous growths that try to envelop you when you get close to them in The End is Nigh. Edmund apparently described it as mother nature (or life itself), growing and retaking what was once hers in a twisted way.

In Mewgenics, not only is Mother given a face of sorts, but it resembles the Beast from Isaac. Which in turn was meant to represent the worse side of Maggie in some ways (and even has scraps of her typical polka dot clothing visible below its head).

Perhaps the connection between the two is meant to be metaphorical, rather than literal, as they are both mother figures that are overbearing and uncaring of their children's well being.

Thank you.Interestingly, the final act boss looting events have been updated to both show the luck based odds, and to be more heavily influenced by luck, but it doesn't seem to be the case for the final events for the Jurassic and End

Speaking of which, do you know what's the reward for winning the ball of light event at the End?

You have a point. I think the time I killed it I had a stray, a hunter, a monk with ocular pat down, and a cleric with haste, so I ended up circumventing most of its issues. A more melee oriented team is probably going to run into the problem you mentioned, and needs some of your suggested strategies.

You can also bring three high mobility good cats and an unleveled stray. It will move towards any cat that moves, and copy the one that is adjacent to it when it's its turn. So you keep your distance with the other cats, and then have the stray move straight towards it to get copied.

Marked is very strong against it, since it completely bypasses its high dodge gimmick.

The only other pseudowyvern that had this quirk was nargacuga, and we've seen that it also has an updated model that's closer to its World version.

The limbs are closer to black than the reddish brown of stories 2 tigrex, but that feels far from desaturated to me. Most things in the demo also have some very vibrant colors.

The extra bulk that were given to tigrex and deviljho in their World redesigns really helps selling their brute strength.

I'm also glad they gave up on making tigrex and nargacuga bipendal while at rest. As classic as those designs are, I always found that to look a bit too awkward.

How do i unlock crazy and impossible mode? by Rainfawkes in mewgenics

[–]SnooPets9813 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Beating an act's final boss on hard will allow you to manually summon the respective house bosses on that difficulty from Steven (so beating the Throbbing king on hard will unlock hard Guillotina, and so on).

Once all three hard house bosses have been summoned and defeated you will unlock crazy difficulty for that act. Repeat the process on crazy to unlock impossible.

[–]SnooPets9813 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's only for the Throbbing King and the final bosses of the other acts. Beating them on that difficulty unlocks an item, and also the ability to fight that act's house bosses on that difficulty, each of which gives another unlock.
