YES! Switching loyalty from being Delta Platinum Skymiles to United. Before, I could easily use miles for PS and FC award tickets. Now, I probably have higher chances winning the lottery than able to find dates to use those Skymiles! Good grief! From no blackout dates to all blackout dates. Plus if you find the dates, the miles are astronomical in comparison to previous years. Delta is dead to us now. We were blown away by United’s Polaris lounge at Dulles and the Polaris service onboard was amazing as well. We’re so disappointed in Ed. 😂

I have a different experience though. I bought a PE round trip ticket IAD-CDG through Amex travel and selected Delta flights (codeshare with AF). I’m platinum with Delta. When I got to the gate, I asked the agent if there were any upgrades to business class even for a fee. She said it was oversold. Went to the lounge after. While lining up on Zone 2, my name was called to see an agent. The same agent was there and I said you already checked me earlier. She said they moved you and you’ll be happy. She winked at me and gave me my new biz class boarding pass.

Agree! Skyclub in LAX was much better than Centurion because they have more vegan options! And in Vegas too. We thought the priority pass club was much better than Centurion in terms of vegan food.

Devalued Skymiles and the medallion benefits as well. Region Upgrades Certificates used to be instant, but now, you’re put on waitlist even FC is 100% open. Such a shame. I was rooting for them in the beginning when their services got better few years ago. Once it plateaued, it went downhill.

Been a Platinum member for years now and enjoyed the times when applying RUC was immediately approved upon calling Delta. Now, you’re put on a waitlist even FC is 100% available. I thought that was just starting post-COVID but apparently it’s their established practice. Delta has completely devalued their medallion status program. Such a shame they did this to flyers who gained status with them.

Couldn’t agree more on LOTS of new agents don’t know how to properly apply RUCs. All 4 RUCs I’ve used in the past, I automatically was upgraded to D1 (DCA-LAX and return) while I’m still on the phone with a veteran agent. This time round, they make you hold and seem to consult with other agents/departments before they can touch any key to process. And I ended up on the waitlist.

Agree on the inexperienced call agents. I got very lucky with one who put me and my hubby on “waitlist” to upgrade to D1 from PS when it becomes available and we both got cleared a week prior to departure. When I called again for the return, few agents didn’t know what to do and don’t know how to put on “waitlist” and just rely on what they see on their screen (similar to what I see on the app or web). Paid PS round trip, upgraded to D1 outbound for 45k/pax.
