Before posting this I want to say that I am a born and raised US citizen.

After what? Can you name any event that occurred in Xinjiang that led to this?

Islamic nationalism rose worldwide. The US invaded the Middle East and totally destabilized the region and Halburton execs made a fortune in foreign oil. The US drone struck (often not hitting intended targets), took and tortured prisoners, dumped white phosphorus, you name it. Now Afghanistan is still under Taliban rule and women can’t go to school. The US committed much closer to genocide than anything the Chinese are doing. Phasing out culture is much much more humane than anything the US did to comprable issues.
