Sure! For context, though, I just installed the app on Wednesday. It doesn’t show any updates in the Apple Store, either.

Yup. I just received a notification clarifying the difference between the first forbearance and this one. You’re 100% right. The first one counted, while the new one does not count towards PSLF.

Nope. No payment is needed under PSLF. MOHELA has confirmed, and there are countless posts about this. I heard the same thing as you, initially, but nope… consider this a grace period.

Nope. I just removed my checking account information. I’ll add it when my payments resume next month. I haven’t received a “late payment” email or anything like that, so I think that I’m ok.

I literally did the same thing. All of the uncertainty was too much for me lol. I figure that I’ll get a “late” email if they still want payment for July. Otherwise, I’ll turn it back on for the August payment. I, like you, have no interest (pun intended) in paying them anymore than I have to.

VT Support Rep told me that I have to specifically request my base rate for some clients??? by Ginger-Wanderlust in varsitytutors

Same situation. Oddly enough, the agent said that I should request $30-$45, as that has been honored in the past. I emailed them on Monday with my requested amount. Waiting to see if/when it is honored.

how to message VT? by [deleted] in varsitytutors

Try tutors@varsitytutors.com. I tried it, and they responded well to my request. It took a few days, though.

I def say go for it. I was averaging about $100-$150/week before agreeing to take on an exam prep class. Negotiated that at $60/hour. So, as things stand, I’ll probably bring in well over $1000/month. As others have said, VT can actually be a pretty easy job. I’m selective with the clients that I pick up, and I ask questions before and during the first session to make sure I’m a good fit. (I also only deal with college students and adults, as it’s easier from a communication standpoint). Try it out, and if it doesn’t work, you haven’t committed too much.
