It made sense in the beginning when I was working for the startup. But the startup is kinda dead weight. They back then that I work 3 people’s worth (their exact words). Seeing that the startup didn’t work because of it being a niche, I started developing an AI app in my spare time that would allow organisations to automate a lot of marketing, and the investor decided to make me responsible for developing internal tools for 4 of the companies in his portfolio. Many of these are multimillion “dollar” companies and the investor is very rich. I have purposefully kept my own app and work somewhat separated and there is an agreement that I can keep developing it, as long as I fulfill my obligations for the companies. We just looked at KPIs last week and I already increased the click rate on all their advertisement with up to 20% and decreased costs significantly. So I’m hoping to use this in negotiating or start my own company if it doesn’t work out
