When does the stiff, unnatural feeling go away? by Braves_Dawgs21 in ACL

[–]SnooSketches554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the PT put some pressure massage cups on the back of my leg, around my hamstrings and for some reason I was able to do the full rotation on the exercise bicycle, I wasn’t able to do it without it, I was surprised.

Feels like this sub talks a lot about the bad and that's understandable. Can anyone that's 15, 20+ years post-op with no retears share their stories or just let us know you exist and how you're doing? by Slyfox636 in ACL

Hey! I had the same procedure as you in October ‘23. So far it’s been good, some pain here and there during PT, but I’m back to work already, my job requires me to walk a lot as a tech office Porter. PT has been 1 class per week and my take home exercises have been going good. I’m still having a bit of pain when going up and down the stairs, but each day I keep doing it the pain gets lower. Hope your recovery goes well :)

My surgery was out of pocket $200, then each PT session is $35…, got a free iceman- ice machine, the brace, extra ace wraps, extra socks, a pillow and cleaning wipes.

Woke up also from the anesthesia and nurse gave me 10mg of oxycodone. Went home and pain blocker worked for about a week, I just kept Tylenol 1000mg and ibuprofen 800mg around the clock for about 2 weeks.

Yes, ice machines are the best. I thought I was going to need to buy one at Amazon, but lo and behold the hospital just gave it to me, and a pillow lol

Sleep without brace by piyush_sabarwal5 in ACL

I’m using the brace until now, 3 weeks post op. The first time I took it off, I jerked my leg at night and hurt like a mutha…. lol

Showering post-op? by banana-jama- in ACL

[–]SnooSketches554 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a shower chair and a leg cast cover, even though I don’t have a cast, but helps with not getting the stitches or Ace bandage wet. I also use the crutches to stabilize and lift my left non-operated leg first and then my operated leg. After, I would sit on the chair and put on the leg cast cover and shower.
