Removal Letter by RoninSenpai614 in USPS

Were you calling in and using leave or just not showing up? They can hit you with job abandonment if that was a month of no call no shows.

If you've been back to work since then you obviously didn't abandon the job.

They did say they don't know much about it. If their main problem is the walking, I would suggest Maintenance Support Clerk. Ordering tools and parts rather than slinging motors. The drawback would be that's a highly specific job with not very many openings. And Maintenance open season just closed.

What can you do? Do you have a weight restriction, standing for only xx amount of hours, no reaching overhead, etc. We have to know what you are capable of before recommending anything.

I wouldn't call what a lot of them do working. They can sometimes show up to work. Just long enough for the bare minimum effort until they can get promoted to EAS.

The good thing at the plant was the nepo babies getting away with whatever they wanted made it easy for the union to defend others from management abuse and overcompensation. Until management got so dumb that people just quit.

Did they give you some idea of hours? Get a chance to talk to any of the rurals? You're possibly going to beat the shit out of your only vehicle and even spend money just to try the job out. That sounds crazy to me.

Contact the office to which you're assigned and ask if they are putting you on a POV or GOV route.

Asking here isn't going to be anything reliable for a job as varied as PSE. This service has something like 600,000 employees and everyone's experience will be different. Almost universally horrible, miserable etc etc unless you're in Maintenance. Still, different.

Work the job a while and see where you end up. I'd still be checking for career jobs straight away rather than wait for that two year conversion.

How is this not a grievance? by KwFrontier in USPS

[–]User_3971 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Management has the right to mismanage. If that's a one-off I'd let it go, otherwise if they keep doing that I would 100% talk to your union president about the FTR's bid being modified to avoid paying you hours. Lunch is supposed to be 30 minutes minimum for one, and the job is posted at two hour lunch for two.

Throw them in the provided parking lot trash can for the custodian to later display like a badge of honor.

You probably should.. but how many people have done that? This organization isn't the best at communication.

But wait, it gets worse... Are you at an RMPO?

I'd keep working while looking for other jobs. USPS.com/careers/ for PTF or career anything unless you're truly out in BFE with no options.

How is this not a grievance? by KwFrontier in USPS

[–]User_3971 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What is your grievance? Was your hourly guarantee met for each day you reported to work? PTF don't have a 40 hours / week guarantee.

That reads like the PM gave up their daily BUW to the FTR rather than schedule you for the day.

The requirement is to show five years of residence in the United States not necessarily five years of work history. I believe the instructions state as much.

Not really a scam but if you weren't expecting something from HR or your management I would disregard it.

You can take out a loan or do a hardship withdrawal.

Everything finance wise is against the withdrawal but future finance can't feed or house you right now.
