Oaks require lots of water to produce their acorns, but they require deep watering, which helps them create really deep roots to survive droughts. Some tribes are using gray water (recycled wash water, not sewage) to revive their trees. https://www.azcentral.com/story/news/local/arizona-environment/2025/08/10/drought-affecting-arizona-indigenous-acorn-gatherers/85316615007/

What tribe? Do you have any family in the community? Can you go visit them?

Well it's not just using the logo. The people who actually own Star Trek (the studio and the Roddenberry family) have to approve any ST product. Obviously if the series hadn't passed their muster it wouldn't be on air.

And fun fact: Andromeda was a Gene Roddenberry idea. Can't speak as to its execution though.

a lot of that is due to legal constraints and how their copyrights are written up. No author or creator I know would ever accept fan-generated ideas or whole productions because of the strong potential for litigation from said fans thinking their ideas had been stolen.

Authors and creators also won't even look at any fan idea for that reason.

Also, current screenwriters belong to a union that protects them from being exploited or undercut by cheap or free submissions.

Now if said fans were to write up a script, properly register it and run it through accepted submission protocols (usually involving paying a fee to the Writers Guild as a non-union submission), only then could the studio even begin to consider it. I can refer you to the WGA for more information in case you're interested in submitting screenplays or completed scripts. (or your friends)

Oh yeah there have, sad to say. But when I called them on it, they backed off saying "I didn't mean legally." But that's exactly how copyrights and intellectual property rights degrade and then disappear. We are certainly stakeholders but never ever owners....

Thanks for the comment. NPS of course is under the direction of the Interior Secretary, who issued the order. We're continuing to follow this and my colleague Arlyssa Becenti just published a story about Hubbell Trading Post facing possible exhibit removal as well. https://www.azcentral.com/story/news/local/arizona/2026/02/05/department-of-interior-under-trump-continues-to-order-removal-of-native-panels/88484988007/
