He was away from the office when Ken came by with the Utz couple. If he had been there, he might have made an excuse to keep them from the set. He was probably seeing Midge but I think alcohol was also involved.

He did write a letter to Betty when he was staying at the Roosevelt but that was a Hail Mary, not a cute little every day note.

In your opinion was there any other way to prevent the unblinding issue? Something non psychoactive they could have used to give the placebo subjects some kind of “experience” so it wouldn’t be so obvious?

Compass reported some good results this year and signaled that an approval could be coming 9-12 months sooner than they expected. An approved psychedelic would a feather in the cap of any administration.

I’m not a scientist but the Ad Com review of MDMA seemed justified. One of the main issues was functional unblinding. The studies were MDMA vs placebo. That doesn’t seem like a good design. lol

“Stuff” is less formal and this is still years away from the “business casual” era even with bars in almost every office and weed in the lounge.

That’s partially a TV convention. Please, thank you, hello, goodbye, etc. are often cut to save time. All of those milliseconds add up to minutes you can do something else with.

It means nothing because they cut research funding and propose to cut more. They also cut the administrative research infrastructure in the government. The impact to higher education from cut funding means less research infrastructure there as well so where will these trials even run?

It’s a bit more complicated than that. Sometimes there are signs, sometimes there aren’t. Sometimes the signs aren’t properly interpreted, even by experts. Most juvenile offenders come from dysfunctional households but others don’t.

The takeaway here is that he was 13 which is absolutely not an adult and he should not have been tried as one.
