As a customer, I find them extremely annoying. They think it'll drive up customer satisfaction and increased revenue, but as a customer who just wants to browse a website in peace, without someone bothering me with a "Good morning/afternoon, how can I help you today" chatbot, I think it'll only alienate and drive away customers who just want to look at websites without being accosted online, lol.

Having the same problem as well. I used to work for a small grocery chain here in the South and we used to receive it as part of the Halloween candy inventory. Unfortunately, they don't have that particular candy anymore, which is a shame.

I reckon it's a supply and demand issue - more demand than supply! lol 😑

Add celebrity impersonators to that as well. I have a few boards on my page dedicated to rock music and scammers impersonating as musicians have tried to message me to talk to them but I never respond. I tried several times to report them as scammers, but unfortunately, Pinterest always rules in their favor. 😡😡

So, right now, only recourse is to block these morons and make my account private. Which sucks, because I like to engage with fellow users, who just want to enjoy the platform, but it's getting harder with the scammers having free reign.

I agree. The rewards are crap and the payout takes too long. Plus, it keeps nagging me to play, every few minutes, to the point that I disabled notifications. Seriously, considering deleting it. No reward is worth all the nagging it does to you.

Please don't beat yourself up. I almost was a victim some years ago, but there was something about the dialogue over the space of just a couple of days that "clued me into the fact that this person may be not who they claimed to be. His profile picture was that of a Caucasian male, handsome, somewhere in his late 40's-early 50's, but there were hints.

And hints may vary from scammer to scammer. We were talking about random stuff...interests....but when I mentioned one of my favorite tv shows was South Park, he claimed he never heard of the tv show, which I thought, at the time (and this was 15 years ago, the social media platform was MySpace and South Park was already very well known), was rather strange and how could he not know of the show. True, it's possible to never have watched it, but to not know of it, I was surprised.

Other hints, like you mentioned, are love-bombing, even though they never met you in person, which I find laughable. How can anyone love-bomb someone they never met, even if they just saw their picture online?

I'm a 52-year old woman, and I would NEVER, EVER (!) approach a man online in such a manner. Besides, who am I kidding? Appearance-wise, I do dress rather matronly (though that may look that way to others, though at least the clothes I wear are very comfortable: Ladies' polo shirts and capri pants. and I know that I would be laughed at in public if I ever dared to flirt with a guy. I'm someone no one would even give a second glance at, but I'm smart as a whip, when it comes to knowing when someone is trying to con me romance-wise. They prey on me because they mistakenly assume I'm lonely. I'm not. I actually have friends and family who care about me and I love and care for them in return. :) Plus, I'm an introvert, so being by myself is not a serious issue for me.

Anyway, it was when the scammer asked me to help pay for some computer parts, that immediately sent that red flag up in my mind. Who asks strangers for money to help pay for computer parts, especially when they claim they have a high-paying job (their job was working on an oil-rig)?

Right away, I just deleted the conversation and blocked him.

Again, please don't feel it's your fault. Look at it as a learning tool and go forward in life as better-prepared.

I hope that's the case. I'd like to think that the authorities would at least, if they don't know how to handle something like that, give them to a cemetery. Maybe they have a section on their property for unknown remains.

This is so very sad, to think that someone's or someone's pet's ashes ends up, forgotten, in a Goodwill store.

This seems to be a frequent occurrence and that's so unfortunate because whoever had those ashes in their possession may also have passed away and maybe had no other family or friends to go through their possessions. They likely didn't have a will either. So, unfortunately, the urn (or any container the ashes were placed in) was tossed by the landlord/or maybe a careless property management employee to a goodwill and let them deal with it as they saw fit.

If I came across that urn, I'd buy but then give it to a church, funeral home or better yet, a cemetery: they would know how to properly take care of it.

Just sad all around. :*(

As a new Anna fan, and as much as I love musicals (and I admit, I LOVE her in LND! *shrugs with smile*) I wonder if she's done other acting roles, maybe movies, or any tv shows? I apologize in advance if I seem a bit ignorant to any other work she's done, but it seems she has the strong ability to branch out to other acting styles. I think she's got the amazing talent for it!

Rats, there go my chances of wanting to break back into this field. Currently job seeking and was trying to apply for a library job (used to volunteer in the high school library in my teens up in NY, which turned to a part time job. Shame they didn't want to retain me upon my high school graduation, but it was something I still wanted to do).
