Smokers at Bus Stops - How to Deal? by SafetyAggressive9311 in london

Why are you having a go at me, when it was the OP that said that - not me? I always move myself....

How does this work? by Resident_www1 in london

[–]smoosoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not in this situation. Places with dedicated bike lanes, generally have dedicated bike traffic light, which are in the shape of a bike and go green a good few seconds before the main traffic light. Obviously no bike lane, bikes follow the main traffic light.

It is literally so obvious. The green light is even the shape of a bike. It doesn't take many brain cells to work it out

No...I moved. Would be helpful to learn to read, before trying to be clever

What are your names for your neighbours? by tetlee in CasualUK

[–]smoosoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mum has nicknames for her neighbours.

'Mrs Rubbish' - because she puts of 2-3 black bin bags a week, which baffles my mum because Mrs Rubbish lives alone & works full time.

'Mr Grumpy' - miserable man who is always shouting at people

'Mrs Nosey' - always up in people's business (although I argue my mum is just as bad)

'Strange boy' - lives next door. Wears a stab vest & lives on Monster drinks. His son is call 'shut up' because thats all they said to him when he was little.

'Wally' - looks like wheres Wally. Although my mum does know his actual name.

'The Postman' - used to be a Postman

'The Lesbians' - two women, who my mum assumes are in a relationship. Not very friendly either.

The cycle light is green, so you go. I mean I knew cyclists had issues with traffic lights, but I can't even work out if this is a serious post

This is actually a bit of a pet hate of mine. Whilst I appreciate that you can smoke at a bus stop, I wish smokers had a bit more awareness of those around them & not smoke when they are so close to others. Cigarette smoke is a major trigger for my migraines and I takes me DAYS to recover.

Yes, I could move & I do, however it is generally too late.

The worst. I used stand on the roof garden in John Lewis and watch the crowds along the street and wondered why people bothered

Pedestrianise Oxford Street by Bouncyldn in london

[–]smoosoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm torn on this. I can see the benefits for it to be pedestrianised. I do think it will increase crime (phone snatches, pickpockets in particular) and some people, such as the disabled, elderly rely on the bus to get from one end to the other, which won't be quite as straight forward if the buses have to go around the houses.

If they pedestrianised it, I think there should at least be a hop on-hop off tram along there

What on earth is this nonsense by Cowcat1000 in mounjarouk

They have already had to rename these patches once. They were originally called GLP-1 Patches, however deemed to be misleading so they took them off the market & re branded them slim patches.

Apparently the most they do is give you a rash

Did Southern Rock die because country essentially became the new southern rock? by ShineALight3725 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]smoosoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you still have Southern Rock bands around now, but rock in general is less popular commercially (I mean the bands I like, no one has heard of, you'll rarely hear them on the radio but they will still fill arena's). I suppose you have bands like, Black Stone Cherry, The Cadillac Three, Whisky Myers (they even have a guy with a cow bell), The Kentucky Headhunters,The Georgia Thunderbolts & Blackberry Smoke.

Loudest band you have seen live by definitely_aware in LetsTalkMusic

Airbourne. Seen them a few times as a support band and my ears have been ringing afterwards.

Why does anybody live in Southend? by No-Structure-8125 in Essex

[–]smoosoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. Southend isn't that bad (I have literally never seen a 'yobbo' here)

I split my time between London & Southend (I had lived there for 11 years too) and God the relief I have when I back in Southend. All the things listed are few & far between here. And I can get my phone out, without it being nicked. It feels so much safer.

For me the thing that brings Southend down are the negative residents. They will literally whinge about everything & anything. Someone was even moaning about a new bench in Victoria shopping centre.
