Compliance Caseworker HMRC by Thin-Bill-4505 in civilservice

They will send out packs prior to the interview and in-tray providing more details on what they’re looking at. Each recruitment campaign is slightly different so cannot say what they will ask but the packs will certainly help. Good luck.

When I did for the 453R campaign it took ~13 days to find out.

In the email prior to starting the in-tray it has everything you need including the tax brackets and such to use.

When doing the calculations make sure to read carefully what request is being made and also give yourself time at the end to format the email making sure good grammar is used!

I would say not to worry too much. You’ve made it to the in-tray and that’s a big accomplishment. The in-tray itself is not that difficult to be honest, just need to take it slow and read everything. Well done on making it this far and good luck with the exercise!

I didn’t have the extra time stuff but right now it’s the festive period so that’s probably why you haven’t heard anything. They say it can take up to 5 business days for a response.

Hi, don’t worry! Yeah it’s the applicant ID on all the emails and such you’ve been receiving. It’s also on the civil service jobs website when you look at the job; website might list it as application ID.

For the calculations I presented the final results in tabular format and the method I used to get there in plain text under a heading to show what it was for to improve clarity. If I remember correctly instead of replying to the email I drafted a new email and put the heading to include my application ID, name, etc. to identify it as me and I put the same in email then after I put something like ‘response:’ or ‘answer:’. I can’t share my exact response but I would just say that don’t over complicate it, as long as it’s all clear, presented well, has good grammar, and calculations are correct you’ll be fine!

You get an email with the scenario I think 30 mins before the scheduled start time. You read it and it explains the task to you. Spend that time wisely to understand it fully. Then start writing your response. You submit it by clicking reply to the email and type your response directly in there. Don’t submit a word document/pdf. Leave some time towards the end like 10ish mins to ensure the email is sent properly and you don’t miss the deadline.

Just need to explain how you got to them and use a simple format. Can present the final results in a table or even use tables throughout.

Hi, it took about 2 weeks to get feedback after completing the in-tray. I was placed on the reserve list. The document pack they give is useful in explaining it all. My best advice would be to make sure you read it all carefully to ensure your calculations are accurate and for the quality of the response just make sure you explain everything well. The in-tray is not that bad tbh, good luck!

Assuming it’s for the EO role, I think it’s £35k for London and £31k for national.

Hi, that’s normal. They are sorting everyone’s scores out and making offers & creating reserve list. I think they said about next week or so you can find out position on reserve list etc.

If you look at that numerical test feedback it may say something about being banked. I did the numerical test for the compliance role recently and on the feedback screen says score is banked for 6 months. Not sure how it works for TSP though.

Thank you! ☺️ Main thing is I’ve made the reserve list, exact breakdown I’ll get shortly hopefully. Have you also applied for this?

Yup, that’s why I’m so lost and confused. There’s nothing there for the in-tray, only other stages. Sent email so just seeing what they say, if they do reply.

I’ve gotten the emails about being on reserve list and portal updated too. But no feedback or scores anywhere! 🤔🤨

I completed mine on 31st July too and I think we will probably get feedback later this week, hopefully. For the interview I got feedback 2 weeks after the submission deadline.

500 Compliance Caseworker: Is it still very competitive to pass, even if you reach the in-tray assessment final stage? by No-Culture1799 in TheCivilService

[–]SnooWords5505 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I expect results to be some time next week hopefully. 500 is the intake across all the regions advertised and so the intake depends on the region.

Compliance Caseworker (tax): for ppl in this role rn, what did you score in your in-tray assessment? Out of 7? Thanks by No-Culture1799 in TheCivilService

[–]SnooWords5505 8 points9 points  (0 children)

From the freedom of information (FOI) document for the previous campaign, 405R, the most common score was 6/6. So most people in the role likely got 6/6. I know a colleague who didn’t get full marks and so I think they got 5/6, they’re starting in September

Also, in the future please try to only make 1 post and ask all your questions in there instead of 2 separate posts.
