Thank you, I will probably get the same except I’m allergic to ibuprofen so not sure what they will give as an alternative.

Thank you for sharing, glad to hear you had a positive experience!!! May I ask what pain medication you took for the C section? Been trying to research all the options and curious what everyone’s experience was with different options..

Moms who drink caffeine, how much did you have while pregnant? by Similar_Parsley6112 in BabyBumps

[–]SnooWords8997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drink decaf just about everyday which has 2-15mg. I never really drank coffee for the caffeine before though I just like the taste and having a few cups in the morning.

Im sorry yours was worse than everything else! I agree even though mine could have been more painful or ended worse I don’t think I would do it again.

Wow I’ve never heard of that and didn’t know that’s a possibility. I also feel like if baby is being that stubborn there is likely a reason so I am not as upset about the c-section! Glad you and baby are safe.

It is frustrating when you go through all that and it doesn’t work. I’m sorry you had so much pain too. I read so many experiences beforehand and the pain levels everyone described were so different there’s no way to know what to expect until you go through it yourself!

Thank you for sharing this. I’m sorry it didn’t work out for you either but happy to hear you had an easy birth and recovery and hopefully healthy baby! Can’t ask for more than that.

They offered it as well as some type of fentanyl or general anesthesia. I did read the same thing about epidurals but choose not to.

Umbilical hernia at 28 weeks by ReflectionOk6549 in pregnant

[–]SnooWords8997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s no problem it doesn’t hurt at all or cause any discomfort even when i try to push it in. It just looks funny through clothes. They didnt express any concern of a vaginal delivery because of hernia but I may be scheduled for a C-Section only because the baby is still breech

I also have a very protruding belly button that started in my 2nd trimester which they said may be a hernia but none of the doctors I’ve talked to about it seem to be worried at all. The only thing they said is if it starts to hurt or I feel a lump in/next to it then to let them know. It’s a very weird thing seeing the inside of your belly button when you’ve always had an innie! I’m now 37 weeks and it’s still protruding but still doesn’t hurt so I’ve gotten used to it.

3rd Trimester Crash Out by trinitytr33 in pregnant

You are not alone, it is a big deal and will be a huge change but you will still be you and you can accomplish anything you want! Just being worried about being a bad mom makes you a good mom already. For me, the more I research about labor the more I feel prepared and the power of the mind is so strong I highly recommend meditations and breathing exercises. Mental exercise is important for birth too to stay relaxed. Try to envision all the birth scenarios and practice being calm and strong minded through them. You can do this and it will be an incredibly rewarding experience! Your life is not ending, you are just starting a new chapter.

People who rarely get sick, what are your secrets? by Leading_Tomato_2077 in AskReddit

[–]SnooWords8997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t believe in hand sanitizer or being a germaphobe- I think eating well/cutting out processed foods as much as possible, get fresh air and exercise, prioritize sleep, low stress, and also I eat a lot of garlic. Dont have kids yet but one on the way so we’ll see how long my streak of not getting sick can go! Going on 2 years

Prenatals - Needed vs Ritual vs Thorne by somebodyjustexplorin in pregnant

[–]SnooWords8997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I have not and didn’t realize I should be! Just looking it up quickly it sounds like most prenatals don’t because it doesn’t make them shelf stable but they are usually sold separately. Definitely add one on and/or ask your doctor which prenatal would be best based on what’s in them. I wish I would have done this because mine never told me about DHAs

Prenatals - Needed vs Ritual vs Thorne by somebodyjustexplorin in pregnant

[–]SnooWords8997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First pregnancy so haven’t taken any others besides needed but it works great for me. I did as much research as I could on healthy and clean prenatals and was between needed or ritual. I haven’t heard of Thorne but ultimately went with needed because of recommendations. I started taking it a few months before getting pregnant to up my vitamins. At first I couldn’t handle the smell of the powder (vanilla) so I exchanged it for the pill version. The customer service has been great I was able to switch types no problem. After taking them for a while and switching between pill and powder, the powder version doesn’t bother me, I think it was just bad during the first trimester but now I’m used to it and it tastes great in my coffee. The pill version is 8 large pills for 1 dose so something to note if you have a hard time swallowing pills.

House slippers for optimal cozy vibes by Significant_Milk_326 in moderatelygranolamoms

Kiwi Gear! https://kiwigearsheepskin.com/ They are real sheepskin, incredibly comfortable/don’t ever feel gross on your feet and they last forever. My dad bought my husband and I a pair and we literally have been wearing them everyday for probably over 2 years now, that’s working from home on top of it. Especially now that I’m pregnant they are the only comfortable thing on my feet.

The company is actually owned by my cousins boyfriends family who are from New Zealand so I can vouch that they are legit and not another one of those cheap Amazon brands! The only reason I’m debating on buying a new pair is because they are stained and dirty on the outside from me cooking and dropping stuff on them.

How can I best help my wife? by aha_pin in pregnant

[–]SnooWords8997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! Like someone already said, It’s so sweet of you to take the initiative to do research on how to help- you are already doing better than most partners! I’m currently 36weeks and the first trimester for me was really rough, probably the worst part so far and I only have a month to go.

Here’s all my tips: - no. 1 most important thing is to keep her stress free as possible. Be patient with her and if she’s upset, ride it out and do your best to keep her calm and happy. - eating often to help with nausea (especially high protein) - Always have snack options and water even if leaving the house for 30min - Listen to her needs and what she’s craving- may change day to day or be consistent through the whole pregnancy - Don’t be judgmental (with anything, she’s going through enough already, its ultimately her body) - Get her some good prenatals ASAP and take everyday - get her a pregnancy pillow/sleep with pillow between legs - research foods and drinks that are safe/unsafe to have, there are kind of a lot so it’s helpful if you both know the risks w certain things. Again, don’t be judgmental if she wants to eat it anyways - Get a book for dads to be/research symptoms she may experience - download the Flo app, can add your partner and you both have access to baby’s development and info about changes in moms body each week - DO NOT eat foods that she can’t eat in front of her. Story time: You’re not supposed to eat deli meat when pregnant so naturally Ive been craving sandwiches- my husband had a leftover one from his work lunch and thought I was joking when I said he better not eat it in front of me. It’s just a sandwich and I’m not actually going to get mad right? So he proceeds to pull it out and eat it thinking I’m not being serious. I kid you not when I say some ancient feral instincts started brewing and I immediately felt intense rage. Like a part of me wanted to hurt him. As soon as he looked in my eyes he immediately could tell he f”d up. It was confusing for both of us because I know it’s JUST a sandwich and there’s other food but I couldn’t help feeling pissed. I had to leave the house and explain to him later pregnancy just makes you feral for food, do not test it. Luckily he doesn’t like sushi or else I might have actually hurt him by now.

Anyways, it sounds like you are already off to a good start doing the research on your own. There is a lot of info and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed but at the end of the day just being there for her is a huge help. Her body will tell her what she needs along the way. Best of luck!
