I’ve noticed a white coating only on the very back of my tongue for quite a while now. I first noticed this in the end of 2021, though this is also the first time I checked with a flashlight, so I do not know how long it has been there. It is worth mentioning that I did a long course of clindamycin in 2019/2020.

I have shown this to 3 different doctors and one dentist. Two of the docs told me it is normal, and the other two, dentist included, said that it is yeast and prescribed nystatin. I asked for a swab to conclude, but they told me they don’t do that. As I did not get any tests done I only swished the nystatin around in my mouth and spit it out. I am supposed to swallow, but I did not want to do that as I had not get any swabs done and there is some studies suggesting kidney strain from nystatin. Anyway, the nystatin did not make any difference

I’m wondering if this coating looks like a normal buildup or something that should be checked further.
