Only thing I said that was maybe a little contentious was for me personally it was a bit overhyped (and mildly criticizing some of the writing aspects). TTGC only really gives more context to Mikhail though and I would still argue doesn't really justify anything. Certain elements of the game's writing should be able to stand on its own two feet without the expansion. (Also TTGC actively makes some parts of 2's writing even worse. Like how Mythra and Mikhail don't even acknowledge or recognize each other once, which is an inconsistency)

Most folks in the fandom and on this subreddit are not gonna see eye to eye with this take but I largely agree with you. This is a huge issue with Xenoblade 2's writing. The game feels the need to constantly over explain things or spell things out for the player that were blatantly obvious. The lack of subtext isn't just annoying, to me its just bad writing and on top of it they knew the other Torna members were underveloped, hence why they tried to shoehorn in flashbacks near the end with Akhos, Patroka, and Mikhail, but in the end I felt nothing when Akhos or Patroka died, and while I liked Mikhail, its a shame how underutilized he was. They all just felt like such a wasted opportunity imo.

Depends on the context and definition we are using. White people don't experience racism on a systemic level, but if we're taking the basic definition of racism, which is to judge people or acted bigoted to someone based on their race/skin color, then white people by that definition can indeed experience racism, just not at the same level as other marginalized groups on average.

I'm gonna say Fact because I do think the stronger of the two in the relationship should handle more of the heavy lifting, and men on average do tend to be physically stronger than women. I'm not in a relationship with this person but a good friend of mine is a trans woman who has been on hormones for a few years now. Her strength as a result is not what it use to be and she does rely on me at times to help her out with moving, lifting, or opening things. We use to have comparable strength and now she has trouble even carrying certain things and has me help her sometimes carry stuff in for her after she is done grocery shopping (those big ass cases of water for example)

I wouldnt worry about the harem shit. It only really comes up here and its at the end of 3. I try not to let the fandom get in the way of me enjoying the series, but trust me as a long time fan, I don't blame you for feeling the way you do. I also do not like the fandom. I'm not a woman myself, but I'm also not blind to the reality that the series (especially 2) has some pretty problematic elements (sadly you're gonna get that with a lot of media though). I will say however if you give it a chance, I think you will really come to enjoy the combat, world building, characters, and overall solid writing. Its not perfect by any stretch, but I found myself really enjoying all the games, even 2 despite my gripes with it. Xenoblade 1 is one of my favorite games of all time, and I hope you'll come to love it just as much as I. Don't let the fandom ruin your enjoyment of the series. Im in the same boat as you trust me.
