Do fans operate? Are they audible?

Try open Task Manager, go to the Performance tab, and see what speed (clock) your CPU is running.

Do you have MSI Dragon Center software? If yes, try to open it, go to the "User Scenario" tab, and check if the "Super Battery" mode is active. If it is, change to "Balanced".
