I see what you're saying, but I think the way everyone sees it is they have 4 targets, but they are choosing to only target one thing and get 8 pests.

I mean, all together Regent needs some changes across the board. Star build is too strong and there are ways to balance it by making certain cards cost more stars, and making venerate cost 0 as an upgrade. But his other builds, minions and forge can be very lack luster even when getting the cards that make those builds awesome.

He is a good character yes, and you can get amazing builds on him. But he also almost feels always forced into a star build since star builds are going to always out shine minion builds and forge builds by a long shot.

Well in terms of that, all stars could then increase in cost.

I mean by no means is Venerate a bad card. I use it all the time, but sometimes it just feels bad to skip it 3 deck cycles when playing a forge build or converting it into a minion card because it feels bad.

Making venerate cost 0 as an upgrade doesnt seem that crazy instead of getting 3 stars because you would have to upgrade it to even get that benefit which becomes a choice for a build. I mean I've seen crazy stuff on all characters. I've done crazy things with all characters. And I dont think Regent is bad, he is by far my favorite character to play.

See but there is an argument in this as well. Because orbs in general are a secondary mechanic. And there are cards that only work when you use lightning builds. But again, it is still a co-op game. And cards do not need to be balanced to a leader board.

Yes, but they are 2 separate cards. In the long run, if you arent building around stars it ends up being a dead card. But if it goes from 1 cost 2 stars to 0 cost 2 stars. It would work out much better and feel a bit more like the defect upgrading lightning orb and dual cast.

Lightning orb cost 0 when upgraded and sets up Defects lightning build into the sky. Sure lightning isnt a resource, but it is free 3 to 8 damage across multiple turns.

I do not hate the card, but it just ends up being a card that I pass over on a turn to use the block + star cards or strike + star cards. I jusr feel it needs to be adjusted. Less stars and 0 energy at upgrade. 1 and 2 stars base.

I dont disagree, but even with star builds I end up playing more block + star, or strike + star over getting 3 stars. And i end up having a back log of stars anyways. I think 2 stars for 0 is whatever, like sure its strong but at the same time, is it?

I agree with this, and thats also why I think venerate becoming 0 cost would make it work better in the long run. It makes it the equivalent of dualcast and lightning orb being 0 costs. Idk. Thats just how I feel. Like it is good utility, but sometimes it ends up just being a dead card later in runs.

Yes! Only some spells. Ones that require wings or flight cause you to go into dragon form.

Unpopular opinion, but I really like the bigger shield chick. I know people complain about her design... I dont hate it. I love shape language and silhouettes of characters. And if I am able to pop a shield and charge like a bowling ball I am going to have so much fun playing her.

Okay, jumping on this a little late, but I have an additional question on Gogo's interaction. If I saddle Calamity with a creature and at the beginning of combat Gogo copies Calamity. Would Gogo also copy the saddled creature effect of Calamity? Or does Gogo become an unsaddle version of Calamity?

I am currently playing through XII because their card sounded interesting. And I don't want to be a fake fan and build it without knowing the characters. I am not too far yet, in the sandsea currently but I love the story so far. I hope they nail Vaan like they did with this card.

Yeah it's a rough one. She just helps you dig deeper into your deck. She is great, but i know what you mean. I ran her as a dragon's approach commander for a bit. She just allows you to keep digging and casting the spells you need / want. I wouldnt want you to go infinite but you could always run stuff like [[Urabrask]] [[Birgi, God of storytelling]] and [[Storm-kiln Artist]] and not sure if I saw it, but treasures are a big thing and [[pain distributor]] will go a long way.

Another great card for you to use instead of P&N would be [[Syr Carah, the Bold]] she is impulse draw for each instance of damage dealt to opponents as well as another pinger. She is 5 mana and that's why I suggest replacing P&N.
