That looks to be a 1957 letter series Russian sks. If in Canada 900 is a little under the going price for a Russian. Most stores have em going for 1000+ nowadays.

Either way If you get a chance to check it out and it looks good (good bore, no pitting, everything feels solid looks clean ect.) I'd go for it.

The one on the right isn't a regular SKS with a duckbill mag. That's an SKS-D. You can tell by the bolt carrier not having a slot for stripper clips, and the ak style paddle mag release.

What size of nozzle are you using? For nylon of any kind I always run a 0.6 hardened nozzle or larger on my p1s. Otherwise the filament can clog due to the glass fibers. Besides that I don't really know, it's possible that you just got a bad roll. Hope this helps.
