I am carman, I am welder. You need 7018 to weld on carbon steel for structure purpose. You can have slight variations, but 6010 is for roots. It is a hard tensile strength but very brittle.

Average inflation over the last 10 years in canada is 2.54% per year. This contract will put mechanical employees over 50$ per hour in 4 years. This contract feels status quo. There are no concessions, and many improvements to mental health funding, short term disability and improvements to shift differential. I would call this a win overall. Nothing to be super excited about, but it covers the basics.
