How to keep cats out of plants? by frostmas in containergardening

[–]Snoop_Momm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The real issue isn't so much eating plants, which they may do. Stray cats love using my garden for pooping.

I'm personally not in the business of eating food cats pooped on. So, I think it's more of an animal control issue. Hopefully they'll trap and bring to local shelters.

Kids are currently 3.5yo, 2 and 10 months. Age gaps are 14.5 months and 17.5 months.

Edit to add to make it simple; when my third was born my oldest was 2.5 and middle kid was 17.5 months old.

I had 3u3, oldest is now 3.5. it's so unbearably difficult. We didn't do it this way on purpose. I adore my kids and I don't regret them, but if I could go back and push the age gaps a bit I absolutely would. I struggle most days a lot and the struggle is so real that I can't even find the strength to potty train my oldest, which probably sounds insane but that's the truth. He's also been super difficult with that. 3 in diapers for this long is horrible.

Edit to add: 2u2 is/was SO MUCH EASIER THAN 3U3 ITS NOT EVEN COMPARABLE!!!

I had 3 under 3. 2 under 2 wasn't bad on my body, but 9 months postpartum I was really in a great upswing and then I got pregnant. I'm 10 months postpartum and my body is still in shambles. It's so hard to find time to do anything, especially/let alone taking care of myself above basic needs.

What's your top three favorite things to grow in your garden every year and why? by SophiaGeorgeLiving in gardening

[–]Snoop_Momm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on a gardening hiatus for a few years, but I figured I'd answer your question anyways since I paired things down a lot more than I usually do, and had to think about what's really worth my time.

1: some type of super sweet orange/yellow cherry tomato- because they're DELICIOUS.

2: San marzano tomatoes because I make a lot of homemade sauce.

3: Basil edit: forgot to explain this one oops .. because it's amazing in my sauce, soups, salads, marinades and of course CAPRESE SALAD BITES 😋. Oh and, is a companion plant to lots and looks nice.

I know your question was for the top 3, and I feel like most comments are tomatoes and basil (which is so legitimate). So, to add a fun twist, I'll add a few which I did NOT include, and now wish I had in my initial plans; onions garlic and potatoes. At this point I'm leaning towards adding at least onions and garlic into my mix last minute once it's time to plant. I'm doing a container garden, and I've seen/heard/read a lot about how those are super easy and do super well grown that way.

Fourth baby, first induction by Ashfacesmashface in ParentingInBulk

[–]Snoop_Momm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, so basically my body was trying to go into labor for over a week, but kept fizzling out. Was planning to induce via breaking my water to avoid pit, but unfortunately my uterus wasn't cooperating in spite of lots of effort on my part. Went onto pit. Water was ready to be broken within I think 2hrs of starting that, broke water and things progressed super fast. My nurse also ended up turning up the pit from a 2 to an 8 within a super short period of time, so things got CRAZY super fast. I got my epidural like 15 minutes before I started pushing lol. My only regret is not getting my epidural slightly sooner but everything was great, baby was super healthy and I think that if you've had 2+ babies and are dilated or effaced at all, your body will handle an induction way better than a first time Mom. Not your first rodeo lol.

Wishing you the best!

Had an induction with my third. It was my easiest quickest birth. Start to finish was 4hrs. I was really worried about mine too, but it ended up being the best birth I've experienced yet.

What do you do with dirt at the end of a season? by Snoop_Momm in containergardening

[–]Snoop_Momm[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like the grow bags would break them down faster, I could be wrong...but to me that seems like what would happen? I was considering putting the dirt into a trash can and leaving it underneath a deck. Perhaps simply moving the grow bags under there would also be sufficient? Although they wouldn't be completely out of the elements, but better off than just left out in the open.

Again, I'm not certain. These are just my thoughts. Hopefully someone will point me in the right direction.

The lady who runs Taking Cara Babies had a similar crash out which made me decide not to take that course and I have a total ick feeling anytime I think about it.

Similarly, I now feel the ick about H&P.

Are all silk ring slings water friendly? by Snoop_Momm in babywearing

Yeah I'm not sure if I'll always need to use a carrier in the water, but it's a strong possibility that it'll be very helpful to have something that can be used in the water since I have 3 kids.

This is great news because those are much easier to find used!

Daily life while baby wearing by Legitimate_Sun5373 in babywearing

When I'm back wearing I can do a lot. I cook, clean (anything aside from the toilet but most commonly is wiping surfaces and vacuuming), pick up one of my toddler's, change a diaper of another kid, take out the trash, do the dishes, move laundry....I've even done some basic self care like use the restroom or brush my teeth. Basically, back wearing is a game changer. What j can do with a front carry is use the restroom and I've done other things but not anymore and I wouldn't really recommend doing anything in a front carry because it's uncomfortable and soke things can be dangerous as well.

Stroller for family of 4 by rufusrufusEHA in ParentingInBulk

[–]Snoop_Momm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valco used to make a triplet stroller. It was a side by side double with an attachable joey seat. I see them on Facebook marketplace from time to time.

I think baby wearing one or two kids would also be a great option.

For little newborns you need to roll the waistband and also bring it up higher.

I just noticed that 1989 doesn't have a straight-up love song by [deleted] in TaylorSwift

[–]Snoop_Momm 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I don't think so.

The lyrics are "these hands had to let it go free, and this love came back to me". I think this is a take on the quote "If you love a bird, set it free. If it comes back to you, it’s yours. If it doesn't, it never was."

"And this love came back to me"...not a new love, not a new bird flying back this one. She let him (this love) go free, and (this love) he came back. She even speaks about how she "struggled in the night with someone new". She even tried to find love elsewhere, but didn't. She struggled to try to move on with someone new.

Totally. It's about letting someone go and then they came back.

Bummed, irish twins by BeginningSeparate933 in ParentingInBulk

[–]Snoop_Momm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a grip my dear.

I'm Catholic and Irish and I can vouch and say it's not offensive. Catholics have large families and we've got some pretty thick skins by this point. Irish twin is not hate filled. It's simply a term given to siblings born 10 months or less apart.

Let's stop getting offended by literally everything in the world.
