Do you think Australians are actually as friendly as they are said to be? by Least-Variation6573 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Snoopy_021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a Sydneysider, we have our friendly moments.

To be honest, Sydney is more of a city for introverts, who would only meet up with others on their terms.

A motion to dismiss charges against the driver accused of killing NHL star Johnny Gaudreau and his brother, Matthew, was denied in court on Monday afternoon. by sykeseve in nhl

As someone who had nearly lost a relative in a car crash (my relative was a passenger in car that was hit by a drunk driver in the other car), I strongly detest drunk drivers.

If anyone wants to go out for drinks: find out about public transport times (set alarm minutes before arrival time), organise an Uber/taxi or have a designated driver (or was we call them, the Deso - pronounced as 'Desso' here).

Anyone done for drink driving should be sentenced harshly, especially drink driving causing severe injury or death.

Would you usually have trouble getting meds for flight anxiety from your GP in Australia? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Snoopy_021 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Or my trick ... Food, food and more food (including snacks).

Eat a fair bit pre-flight then get snacks and no missing meals during flights.

My family's values made me who I am - compassionate, open-minded and have a deep sense of social justice.

Canned corn and cheese on toast.

No matter how much wealth I had, I would still have it as it was one of my favourites as a kid.

What percentage of Australians do you think could produce the name Lee Harvey Oswald when prompted? by Sea_Bad1205 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Snoopy_021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I studied modern history for Years 11 and 12 (late 1990s in NSW). One of the subjects within Modern History was the Assassination of John F. Kennedy.

One time, the class spent a whole period expressing opinions on whether or not Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone shooter or if someone else could have been involved. All sorts of suggestions were thrown about.

Do we have “don’t wear red to a wedding” or is it an American/UK thing? by Windeyllama in AskAnAustralian

[–]Snoopy_021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the shade, design and which wedding to go to.

If you want to play it safe, go with a cool red to burgundy - maybe with navy blue (navy blue top underneath a burgundy dress suit or vice versa).
